-->> Raphael .. pure n' simple.. a NEW VINTAGE BELT-BUCKLE !!
Made from a sun-dried and abandoned old vintage Raphael head belt buckle. The little buckle was for a children's fabric belt. The metal on the back was broken and rusted. Prolly fell off some kid. My sister found it while walking among the sand-stone rocks of a local park. It's dated 1989 on the back of the head so who knows how long it was there in the dirt. The rust stained the back a bit. Luckily the head is a solid hard plastic and while showing signs of being worn a little by the elements, it's not worse for wear.
The metal buckle is a Mossimo one from Target that was on clearance for $ 1.98.
Sanding and cutting off the remnants of the old metal clip and plastic buckle from the back of the Turtle head.. and then applying some liquid metal ( Good old J.B. Weld ) epoxy, centering the head gently in the middle of the metal buckle :: a violent voilà[i] !!
Fifteen hours later i avoided the waste of a perfectly good HOT HEAD !! Now i have a new belt buckle i cannot wait to wear !!
