They say he disappeared because one of his sisters is currently in charge and he hasn't been in public for a bit. While one could think there has been a palace revolution, I think its more likely Ol' Ding Dong just caught a stomach bug and they regime is doing this to say "Nah, all's well! Nothing to see here!".
