So I'm not really much of an artist, but I like to practice from time to time in hopes that I'll actually get better. But I generally get frustrated so I dumped a vaguely cat-shaped gray blob on the canvas in photoshop and dodged and burned until I got this thing. The sad thing is, it pretty much looks better than anything else I've managed to do.

Now I'm actually somewhat inspired and wonder if I could go somewhere with this method of drawing if I refined it enough. It feels more like modeling than actual drawing. The problem is I can't seem to figure out how to color it. I tried a bunch of different blending modes and layers and stuff but I just can't make it work. So I guess I'll just keep experimenting with stuff.

I know it's a bit goofy but any thoughts/constructive criticism would be appreciated. :3
