I wrote a letter to Dewey Teagarden some months ago, hoping that she would reply eventually. And I was blown away to see that two days ago, she did!

My Dearest Ms. Teagarden,
I discovered your blog some time ago, and was enraptured from the very first entry! I've read and re-read and re-re-read many of your entries. As someone who writes erotic stories himself, I have a deep appreciation for your employer's collection. None of my works have been published beyond my own blogs, but I still feel successful nonetheless, simply for being free enough to share the fantasies I've woven into stories.
But, I digress. Let's bring the subject back to you-- You have such a wonderful way with words, and I appreciate every experience you share with us. How I envy you of your encounters! I can only dream to have so much excitement in my life.
While reading about your time in the library, I've come to wonder-- Do you get many female guests there? Or is it mainly men who are drawn to study your employer's collection?
Finally, a shamelessly indulgent question for myself-- Ms. Teagarden, do you happen to have a favorite pair of shoes you could tell us--or even show--us about? You've shared about your stockings and clothing, but I'd dearly love to hear you dish about some delectable footwear. ;)
Eagerly awaiting your reply,
~Kei
My Dear Kei,
Thank you for writing. I always admire authors. It’s not easy to invest the time and emotional energy into prose. I would love to read your stories if you would be so kind to share a link to your work. Putting your own desires, even framed through the experiences of a fictional character, is brave.
Oh, shoes, you picked an excellent subject for me to wax upon. For the most part I do love a simple, sleek style. I average a 3 to 4 inch heel. Anything taller tends to stray into dangerous territory to work in. I also wear flats, which haven’t been pictured often in the blog, if at all. My flats are pretty, but they are also work horses.
Custom high heels are a must! I cannot stress enough how important it is to take care of your feet. Especially concerning high heels. The average name brand manufacturer likes to put excessive padding at the ball of the foot, but this is a mistake. It works well enough if you’re only going to wear them for a short period of time, but it creates a pressure point that builds up until your toes fall asleep. Sometimes you get pins & needles, but sometimes you can’t tell, especially if you’re working, or doing a lot of walking. Over the years you can cause yourself painful nerve damage. I, instead, prefer the extra padding to be in the arch and heel. Your foot is going to be pushed down into the toe of your shoes regardless of what you do. I would rather know when to slip out of my shoes to avoid hurtful strain that to have it masked by padding.
But now I’ve made high heels sounds like torture devices. There’s good reason most women you see on the street are not wearing them. Everyone’s feet and legs are different and not all are built for high heels. It’s fairly easy to tell just from wearing them. There are so many lovely flats out there, and strappy sandals, that finding sexy footwear is not limited to high heels. I’ve met women who look so sexy in flats that I have almost climaxed. Well, not really, but the metaphor stands. But I have, honestly, once or twice. Maybe three times. I only remember the times that were the most embarrassing.
I’ll show off some of my favorite shoes in the pictorial above. The T-strap heels are possibly my favorite. They’re playful and have a solid, widened heel top piece which are hard polycarbonate. They make a delightful clicking as I walk around the Bearsdsley mansion, which has very little carpeting. I love the little bows on the counter. They’re actually hard leather, like the rest of the show, so sadly they don’t flounce while walking, but they wouldn’t anyway at their size.
The second pair are classic pumps with a four inch heel. They actually match my hair color, and have a shiny gold-colored sole that really catches the light when I lift my feet. In certain instances it’s like a reward. A golden ticket, if you will. In any case, they are seriously flashy.
We do indeed get female visitors. The bias is still heavily slanted toward male guests. This saddens me as I would love to see more women with a love of erotic literature in official academia. I would say most of our female guests are studying erotic literature for personal interests, not as part of a humanities program. Most have been authors. It’s my hope that will change in the future.
Sincerely yours,
Dewey Teagarden
