261 – Making Tracks
Becky doesn’t know as much about Judaism as she thinks. So, as some of you might have heard, we were at Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco this weekend to flog Misunderstanding Comics! It was a surprisingly successful experience for us. Well, I shouldn't say surprising, because APE is always a good crowd, but Tim's always a big pessimist who's convinced that everything will fall flat on its face. Well, it's DIDN'T. I love APE because it's full of hipsters just like me! APE attendees really seem to GET the book, which is nice. There are some cons where people just want to find vintage Batman toys or bad Deviantart style pin-ups of Harlequin, but these people were really on the prowl for something new and different, so it was all good! Also did strong sales on Malleus Maleficarum and all our low-ticket mini comics as well. The only fly in the ointment was the one woman who stopped by the table specifically to tell us that she wasn't going to look at our merchandise because she was tired. I'm not sure why she felt the need to tell us that instead of just ignoring us. Maybe she wanted us to feel bad? Oh well!

I imagine that woman thought your table had candy, and had the excuse all ready for when she stepped up (as I always need to do when I need a snack, since the tables offering such things are always ones I never have any interest in otherwise), only to realize too late that no such treats were to be found. Only the snarky funnybooks you were trying to peddle.
