Funny you should mention that.. I actually recall asking Mr. Dressup where Casey and Finnigan were because I was totally bummed out that they weren't at the show.

Mainly because I was not told the footage would be for Polka Dot Door, I guess...

The camera crew that filmed my mom and I said it would be on a documentary .. it wasn't.. it was one of those clips on Polka Dot Door where the horribly overacted man and woman host of the show narrated it with "I wonder what THESE people are doing!? OH MY GOD!! THEY'RE RIDING A HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGE IN THE SNOW!!! Have YOU ever ridden a carriage!? It looks like FUN!! DOESN'T IT!?" etc...

It was just uber lame.. and scared the shit out of me when I saw it repeated later on in life.

I know, right! It's funny.. I didn't actually remember this until I stumbled upon the picture on the interwebs...

Then it all came back to me.. the show.. hanging around after the show to talk to Mr. Dressup with my mom and several other kids... The memories literally hit me like a ton of bricks!!

It is indeed a memory worth remembering and now I have something to help me always cherish it.

I used to watch Mr. Dressup, but I can't remember much about it other than that I liked Casey and Finnegan. The Tickle Trunk seemed too magical for me, as it always had just the right outfit for that particular episode. I was always curious what else there was inside, that they didn't show. I stopped watching it once I started going to school.

In later years, Mr. Coombs went on tour with "Tales from The Tickle Trunk".

I think that MAY have been the performance I went to see as a kid, to be honest...

"Tales From The Tickle Trunk" sounds VERY familiar to me for some reason.

Umm... "Tales from the Tickle Trunk" was a NSFW show for adults only. Coombs did it after he had retired from making Mr. Dressup episodes. It was also re-used as the title of his biography in the "Life and Times" series.
