yeah this is real, though I am still not convinced, and I was THERE XD
this is every bit of awesome it should be, plus a little extra.
and that FIM-12 Stinger is heavy (despite being made of very light materials)
well worth it though :3
Pro Voltage ftw!
Snake is mine
Raiden is Shiori's
Rex is Ruby's
Meryl is Sue's

That was only if you bought the Meme DLC... Or one of those other packs, it was a while ago. I only got to play MGO towards the end of it's life cycle, just before they shut down the servers.
Which was a real bitch cause that was my favorite online shooter, right up there with Hostile Intenet, the Half-Life mod time forgot.
I knew it was the SOCOM only because the grip looked right and what else would it be? I didn't even know you could draw his sidearm while playing Raiden, only knew he was in the pack.

same here. did you know it was ranked number one in online multiplayer experiences for like 3 years in a row???
yeah you had to buy the meme dlc (and scene and gene if you were cool) but it was SOOOOOOO worth it :)
yeah you could draw it. they didnt want Raiden to be underbalanced. and oh lawdy he wasnt XD

i can agree. there are definately exceptions as far as online experiences go though :)
destiny for example, gives you the option to completely ignore party or multiplayer option, with no consequences to the reward and playing system, which allows players with the skill to play solo, to continue to do so, but if they wish to have a teammate to ease up the difficulty, its possible.
mgs4 offered an intense story mode and a symbiotic online experience. they meshed perfectly and similtaneously were completely seperate (even down to different loading screens and that you had to go to the main menu to switch over)
that being said, i think mgs5 shows allot of promise in that regard because if it includes online at all, it will still have its code of "quality story first, online quality second, but compromise nothing, regardless"
its a standard that i think kojima demands and hasnt dissappointed us with yet ^^

My favorite aspect of MGO was always the SOP system. I really like the idea of a central aspect of the single player carrying over to the Multiplayer.
Not to mention compared to all the "perks" going around these days, MGO had a system of specialties that weren't just more shit to kill with.
Monomania was a favorite of mine because I was usually kind of a shit shot, and but nicking the guy let everyone know where he was.
I hope that kind of thing comes back, a system to directly encourage teamwork and coordination always makes multiplayer better, otherwise why play with other people?
...Not to mention headshot's were easier than other games in a realistic way, meaning there wasn't a huge skill gap between top level players and low level noobs.

Supposedly Dragunov could have made it more accurate, he'd made plenty of 1,000 yard rifles. But there were weight restrictions and it had to stablize tracers as well as sniper ammunition, so they had to split the difference instead of optimizing the rifling for a single cartridge.
Doesn't seem to come up in a search.
Not that I'd be able to afford even something so common as a PSL. An SVD will likely be a pipe dream for me for a long time yet.
Though I'd really like a Semi-auto chambered in 7.62x54R, I just picked up a butt load on the cheap. Much more than I can really put through my Mosin, you can only reload a five shot bolt gun so many times before you hit the bored side of a trip to the range.

Now that's a cool gun, but you would have to hand load every single round you fired.
I'd probably pick out something more common so I could buy a lot of cheap surplus ammo. The coolest gun in the world's just a decoration without ammo.
Course if I could have anything an MP412 REX would nice, always wanted a .357 anyway.

Damn you, that's also the most expensive option!
The only revolver I've been able to afford is a Nagant M1895.
If I actually went out to try and find a .357 it'd probably be something like a Llama or a Rohm. Though Armscore makes some pretty good stuff on the cheap.
But I'm still looking for an Ithaca 37 to complete the rifle/pistol/shotgun trifecta, then something that shoots 7.62x39 cause damn that ammo is cheap.
In fact I saw a fugly SKS confiscated off a drug dealer recently for less than my Vz. 82 cost. Mostly because the guy pulled the bayonete and grenade launcher attachment off along with the gas tube cover, then he put a weird rail where the cover was and a ring sight where the irons were, followed by an ugly synthetic stock.
Then for some reason he scoured the finish off the reciever, leaving ugly, bare steel. I guess he though it made it look like stainless.
Needless to say it's fucking hideous, but it's functional and only a little dirty with a rock bottom price under 240, and I've never given a crap about looks when the words "functional" and "cheap as hell" enter the equation.

Single Action Army's chambered in .357 are most definitly around, but I've never seen any caliber reproduction for that gun go for anything like inexpensive.
Leastways I hate the Peacemaker, one nearly blew a hole in my foot due to the extreme sensitivity in the action, while repros like the Vaquero are just modernized versions of an antiquated design that was popular in the first place mostly because it was cheap. And the current ones aren't so what's the point?
I don't know about an Ithaca in .357, since I can't seem to bring up any record of them ever making a revolver, and all they make now is a 1911 and the same M37 shotgun they've been making since 1937. It's their primary product, the oldest continuously produced firearm in the world, and I totally want one.
But yeah, that SKS was... Wacky.
Not as wacky as a double barrel coach gun the same store was trying to sell for a private seller. It had a crudely welded rail, the front bead sight was replaced with a larger one shaped like a skull, and it had green flames painted on the stock with "semper fi" written on it as well.
The kicker was he wanted 350 for it, a 100 bucks more than it was likely worth new, and over twice was it was worth in it's hideous state.

That's just as bad, I hardly get to shoot a thing if I don't buy it myself.
I regret shooting that K-frame .357 because I know I'll likely never find one for a reasonable price, and that was a masterful little revolver right there. They don't even make them anymore, not since 2006.
And here you're saying you've shot a Mateba? Damn you, you pirate hooker!
