Actually, scuba diving with helium is a very common thing.
When people deep sea scubadive, they can't have a tank full of just ambient gasses because the pressure difference forces those gasses (mostly nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oxygen) into the bloodstream due to the pressure differences between the surroundings and the tank, So divers need an inert gas to pressurize the tank with that, once forced into the bloodstream, will naturally leave it without binding to anything in the body, helium was the gas (and I think still is) of choice for deep sea dive tanks :3
And they look VERY far out to sea, deep sea diving sounds plausible X3
