Difenwa is a Vodou priestess in modern day America, a Haitian native who moved as a child to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She's a combination of old world aesthetics and modern, though has strong faith in her work as a Mambo (Vodou priestess).
Just don't call it "Voodoo" around her, or you'll get a lesson on the difference between her beliefs and societal stereotypes.
