I'm in AP calculus this year and have a lot of difficulty with it. The teacher is treating it as a college level class and is giving us massive homework loads that confuse me rather than help. Add that to the poor education of basic precalculus concepts and I'm staying up very late working on homework most nights. Last week I didn't go to bed before 1:30-2:00 and one night I even had to stay up until 4 and wake up at 6:30. Then I am yelled at for "not trying hard enough" when a problem that I didn't understand was left only partially completed. Calculus is quickly becoming my worst nightmare because this is the last year I will ever be able to live with my family for the whole time and I have to spend it locked in my room, staring at a paper while having an emotional breakdown. I don't know how I can love this when it only enslaves me.
Well, obviously the teacher is treating it as a college level class. What did you think AP is? xD
Don't procrastinate on your homework. Now if you have a bad teacher, that's a different story. But really, I dunno what to tell you. Calc comes very easily to me.
You are only enslaving yourself. You are setting that mindset that "this is hard." Get that stupid mindset out of your head. Cognitive dissonance creates an effect where if you think something is hard, it will be hard. If a topic confuses you, I'd be more than happy to assist you. But first thing is first: stop thinking it's hard. Think to yourself that it's challenging, but not hard. When you think something is hard, you typically don't want to do it. When you think something is challenging, you want to try and overcome the challenge. Come to me with any questions you have, and I'll explain 'em to you. Don't worry. You can do it.
