I wasn't gonna post my stuff for the group Pokemon-Amie on here, but, I'm really proud of this picture and another one, so, I'll post this one and then the other one fairly soon as well.
My character Gideon (the Ninetales) babysitting a Plusle and Minun.
Wrote a little story to go alone with it, too.
Gideon wasn't quite sure what to expect, but, it certainly wasn't the events of the evening. When he had accepted the job of taking care of two brothers, a Plusle and Minun, he had been warned of how troublesome they could be. The older Ninetales couldn't help but expect the worst from the two. And honestly, Gideon wasn't even sure if he'd be able to handle the two of them, if they truly were as horrible as he had heard. Why did he accept the task then? Because being a father himself, he knew how much the two boys' parents would appreciate a night away. And besides, he had a soft spot for children, so maybe, just maybe, he'd be able to get through to them.
When he arrived, before their parents had left, Gideon was immediately bombarded with questions from the two. "What happened to your leg mister?" one of them, the young Plusle, asked, grabbing Gideon's stump between his paws. The Minun had decided to climb up onto Gideon's back, tracing the scars there. "And why do you have these scars?" he asked, staring at them curiously. And then both of them just had to ask him in unison, "What happened to your eye?" Gideon sighed, and opened his mouth to answer, but found himself cut off. "Boys! What have I told you about asking uncomfortable questions?" their mother snapped, surprising Gideon. The twins climbed down off of Gideon, and turned to their mother. Their heads bowed, and their front paws behind their back, they responded in unison once again, "Not to do that..." Their mother nodded at them. "Now, both of you need to apologize." The two boys turned again, looking up at Gideon apologetically. "We're sorry mister Gideon, sir," they mumbled.
The Ninetales found himself chuckling. "It's alright you two. And really ma'am, they're just curious, I don't mind 'em asking things," he said calmly. "Now, why don't you and your husband get going. The boys are in safe paws." The boys's mother nodded, and she and her husband were off. As soon as the boys heard the door slam shut, they returned to climbing up onto Gideon. They had never seen a Ninetales before, and they couldn't help themselves. One of them had started jumping on his back, and Gideon winced. "Careful boys, my joints don't work as well as they used to," he said, pain etched into his words. Hearing the tone of voice, the Plusle stopped what he was doing, and he slid off of Gideon running off to grab something. His brother followed, and Gideon had to wonder just where they were going. However, he didn't have a chance to run after them when they returned. One of them held a large grey blanket, which was decorated with red pluses and blue minuses. The other, held two Game Buddy's in his paws.
Gideon sat back on his haunches. tilting his head slightly to one side out of confusion. The Plusle laid out the blanket in front of Gideon, and he tugged at Gideon's front paw, as if to lead him over to it. Gideon followed, still confused as the actions of the two boys. What happened to them being rambunctious and wild? "You can lay down on the blanket if you want," the Plusle said. "Yeah, we'll just sit with you and play our Game Buddy's if that's alright," the Minun mumbled, his paws behind his back again. Gideon lay down, still in awe at home calm the boys were. "Yes, that's fine boys. How about I tell you a story while you're playing?" he asked, smiling at them. "What kinda story?" the boys asked together. "Well, you asked about my leg and my scars, so, how about I tell you the story of how that all happened?" Gideon responded. The two boys looked at each other in awe before looking back to Gideon and nodding vigorously. The two of them snuggled against Gideon's side, only barely paying attention their games as they listened.
Gideon told them of his late-wife, a Furfrou named Laila. And he told them of how the two of them were attacked by an Ursaring when they had accidentally wandered into its territory. He told them how Laila had been killed in the attack, and that he had tried to fight the Ursaring off. The boys hung onto his every word, amazed that this Pokemon who had decided to spend his time taking care of them for the evening, had fought off a huge Ursaring all on his own. "But, doesn't that mean that you're all alone now mister Gideon?" the Plusle asked, a few small tears in his eyes. "I suppose you could say that young'un, but, I know Laila is always with me in spirit," Gideon said, smiling. Both of the boys sniffled, and they hugged Gideon's front leg tightly. Thinking to himself for a moment, the Plusle decided to hand his Game Buddy Plus to Gideon. "You can have this Gideon. It can tell you that we're here for you too, and that you don't have to be all alone anymore," he said, sniffling a little between words. Gideon nuzzled the two boys, licking the tops of their heads in a gesture of compassion. "Thank you boys. Now, I think it's about time you two went to bed, isn't it?"
The twins looked up at him and pouted. "We don't wanna go to bed, we want to hear more of your stories," they said, though they both yawned once they finished speaking. Gideon chuckled. "How about, I think of another story for next time, alright? You two need to sleep. If you want, you can get all snuggled up in my tails and sleep there until you're parents get home," Gideon said calmly. The boys both nodded, and waddled over to Gideon's tails, getting themselves all snuggled up among them. Gideon watched over them as they nodded off, the Plusle having grabbed a hold of one of his tails, and his brother laying beside him. "You really aren't so bad young'uns... Thank you."
