I adore Luthien's artwork. Despite it being very 2d with traditional media, she has a lovely usage of color, composition and dynamic technique. Love it- can't get enough of it :3
The cell shading method has its place. I just couldn't "get it" when I tried doing it myself a while ago, so I gave up. XD
