Lol, my grandmother was the child of immigrants who grew up during the great depression, she was born in 1916. She kept EVERYTHING!!So not all but a few were from back then, its cool to own a piece of history. We still have this special family bible, that was brought over from Ireland with my great grand parents, its just so cool to own such things.
Neither would I! I mean thanks to my grandmother's pack rat nature, we discovered so much! My family were allies to the native Americans(found an old native American shield in her closet, because where else would you keep such things) fought for the Union in the civil war, and were rum runners during prohibition. I mean come on that's flipping cool!
that would be cool but the place where I live was ripped into two pieces by an earthquake
the only markings were five path gathering at one point in the deep forest, creating a star and five oakes were planted there
funny added story: An old farmer once saw a rainbow going down to earth right in front of one of our old oakes and he started to dig there to find the pot of gold of the Leprechaun^^
that happened just 100 years ago^^

Lol! That is funny! I know of one as well, One of my teachers said that her family got the money to travel to America by catch a Leprechaun, and making him give them his gold. Stories like one sparked a weird tradition, where you chase bunch of people dressed as Leprechaun, there's usually specific one you have to catch, but its amusing all the same. Its weird, but other countries have even stranger traditions.
true that is funny
there is a weird tradition in my country too based on the celtic mother earth godess Brigantia (you may have heard about her as Bridget or St. Bridget) called the virgin carrieng. A virgin is carried on a thrown through the village and the men who carry her, bow in front of every door to beg for children to be born. Sometimes the thrown and the virgin got too heavy and the virgin fell down in front of the door...^^° since then a statue of a virgin is used for this tradition
