Somewhat. The amount of work put into the battle scene could have "born more fruit" if we knew why there was fighting, or where the enemy was from, I.E. plot type stuff. The most commendable part of this was the battle action, was pretty sweet and I didn't quit reading halfway through in disgust like I do on some stuff.. So yeah it was good. Keep her up!
