Based on something that one of my studio professors mentioned during class. He was talking about the connection between mental illness and the motivations for doing art. He mentioned this one guy who constantly drew, not because he wanted to, but because he thought that there was a rat in his brain and it would start eating his brain if he stopped drawing. So to pacify the rat, he constantly drew. Not sure if the story is true or not, but hell... it makes a good story.

Hmm good thing I don't have something like that ... or.. uuuuhm... no it's more a bad thing... perhaps I would be a little more inspired if I had one of those ...
hmmm... perhaps that rat allready ate my brain and starved because there isn't anything left to eat and that's why I don't have any inspiration at the moment...
hmm... should go to the verminator someday soon... :)
Btw. cool picture :) facial expretion is very classy :)

It probably would. I'm actually still on the fence as to what Krat should be more like. At first I thought she would be more birdlike, but then for an art trade someone drew me an awesome picture of Krat that made her look more reptilian and I'm thinking... "Hey! That's pretty cool."

Ah, but the New Coal is cleaner and more efficient, with less pollution and waste...
Erf...Yeah, I'm from Southwestern PA...coal country to be sure. I swear, in a couple of years Washington and Greene counties are both going to drop anywhere from twelve to a hundred feet from all of the mining :P

Actually its been documented that people with mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are more prone to being artistically motivated... i guess is a good way to put it. A great portion of artists in the past have been known for having these illnesses. But of course... there is exceptions to every rule.
Anyway... I love the evil brain eating rat idea and how you drew it out.

Yeah, it seems that throughout history the most notable artists are somewhat mentally unstable. Most notable example is Vincent Van Gogh.
In terms of personality (but maybe not necessarily mental disorders) Caravaggio was not someone who you would want to bring home to your mother. He died at the age of 30 and beforehand had been arrested several times. Also Picasso was known to be a womanizer.
Even artists like Charles Shultz was known to have definite trouble with anxiety issues and such.
Thanks. :D
