This picture was particularly inspired by a scene in the Disney classic, "Fantasia". The song was "A Day in the Field" Where all these various mythical creatures came out and spent a typical day in the field. I remember loving that one and being absolutely terrified yet strangely interested in "Night on Bauld Mountain". Much like my picture that I had done for  neogeen which was inspired by the Dutch Baroque artist, this picture is far from the quality and fun that is the sequence in Fantasia. But I will tell you I had a great deal of fun making this.
