RAPTORCAT:
Raptorcats are an interesting blend of feline and avian species. The "raptor" in their name is due to their raptor-like beaks, claws and plumage. And the "cat" obviously refers to their cat-like musculature and bone structure. Male and female raptorcats are all vibrantly colored and have fringes on the tops of their heads resembling a mohawk.
Coats and Markinkgs:
Raptorcats' coats are comprised of a thick down-like fluff with bird-like feathers that extend from their tails, heads, chests and forelegs. Their markings are reminiscent of known raptor species and are named as such. Both males and females are brightly colored and have sporty mohawks, however, males can be distinguished by a section of thick plumage around their necks looking almost like a main.
Size:
Raptorcats very in size based on their respective raptor breeds. They can be anywhere from 10 lbs to 35 lbs. Larger sizes are rare but sometimes occur.
Males are usually larger than females of like raptor breeds.
Temperaments:
Raptorcats are a generally very friendly and lovable species. In early adulthood, males can be stubborn and refuse to obay their owners. However they will eventually grow out of this faze. Raptorcats will form very strong bonds with their owners and become extremely loyal. They may be small in stature but their strong beaks, sharp claws and dense musculature make them a formidable opponent for intruders. The earlier a raptorcat is adopted, the stronger the bond they will form with their owner. Adopting a hatchling is recommended but not always necessary for a good relationship with one.
Exercise:
Raptorcats are very energetic and love to be outdoors. They are fit for just about any environment. Their down-like coats provide insulation from extreme temperatures and buoyancy agains water and wind. They love to splash around in water and climb trees and will take any opportunity to hunt outside.
