Notes: first I LOVE SEADRAGONS. they are simply some of the single most beautiful fish in the world. leafy ones are like this with weedy being less spectaculalrly finned but "painted" like an aboriginal dot painting and i have yet to do one of the weedies. in medival times there were "biology" books of a kind that contained descriptions of creatures form foreign lands and the monks of the time would make illutrations based on the vauge often fanciful descriptions. and as such the tiny sea hose became a magnifecent fish tailed steed. this was called the hippocampus (hippo meaning horse and yes there is a section of your brain called the hippocampus based on the fact it kind looks like a seahorse :) ) so i thought that a normal hippocampus was really a seahorse and the seadragon is it's very close realaitve so why not make a hippocampus draconis. there are a few other seahorse relative i wish to do such illostrations of as well like the weedy seahorse the sea moth and ghost pipe fish. i am also planing on doing a leafy and weedy sea dragon deep ones
