Can't believe I forgot to upload this too! I threw together my first "real" cosplay (as in not a creature suit) this summer for Denver Comic Con, though sadly I was not able to attend because of A-kon the weekend before... my work schedule was messed up to accommodate for the trip to Texas and I had to sell my ticket for DCC.
I wanted something more casual to wear but still be more dressed up than just wearing a nerdy tee shirt, and I also know Kevin, the local guy who owns and built a Jurassic Park Jeep. Colorado Movie Cars group has a bunch of their vehicles on display at the con each year and was hoping they'd bring the Jeep. There was also a dinosaur themed after-party at the Best Western Dinosaur Hotel hosted by The Oatmeal that was a pretty nice substitute from having to miss the con, and the Jeep was possibly going to make an appearance there too... but apparently he wasn't able to make it to either event this year, so I have yet to get a photo with me and the Jeep.
:shakefist:
I've already warned him that I'm going to stalk the Jeep until this happens XD
This was the first time I've tried dying something over the stove and probably the only time you'll catch me wearing pink (and still being cool) while doing so.
You can see how I put this project together on my WIP Flickr Gallery here: [link]

Also had SteelJaw print the badge for me on plastic, thank you!

Gawd, the Jurassic Explorer is my dream car. I was very close to buying an old 1994 model (identical to the 1993 used in the movie) and fixing it up and decaling it with help from a friend... and the longer I wait the harder it'll be to find one in good condition. But I just don't have the funds for such a project right now. *shakefist*
Buuuuut once I get it, I'll make a JP raptor costume, have someone drive me to a con, and I'll hop out of the back of the car like "sup bitches?" :3

That would be interesting. There were a lot of spinoffs and ideas about "dinosaur fusion" and such with enhancing genetic experimentation. The rumor about JP4 a few re-writes ago (not the current one in production) was it was supposed to be about human/dino hybrids. Some supposed concept art was leaked. Really weird idea to take the series to, but perhaps you could play off of it?
A combination- mostly it was stuff I bought and then had to modify... like the shirt was white and I dyed it pink, the hat was all tan and I colored the brim red and attached all the logo patches I bought online. I made the badge to match the blurry screenshots the employees wear in the movie. Take a look at my WIP photos linked in the description to see how I did everything, but you can ask if you have a specific question.
Here's a link to it: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c.....psf1d31daa.jpg
Yeessss. That's awesome! Even better that you get to match each other that way, I love group cosplays!
I bought stuff to make a nice tailored lab coat, originally for my molding and casting work and I was gonna slap a JP logo on it for fun... but then I spent like $100 in good materials and was like NOPE THIS IS COSPLAY NOW |D
