What actually mattered is that you could record keystrokes, so that it could function as a musical note-taker. If you had the idea for a tune stuck in your head, that Casio made it easy to jot the tune down, so to speak, and play it back later when you had access to better synths. Oh, and its snug little storage sleeve mattered, too. ^_^
