Seriously though, I'm not just giving pleasantries, BlackJack is right up there with easily my top five favorite Original Character's character designs I've seen 'round these parts. You knocked it outta' the park with him.

:) crazy fact? He's had pretty much the same design (give or take a scar or spike or two) since I was about 10... just it took years and years before I could draw him to any satisfactory degree... apparently I like making life hard for myself.

I know the feeling. The current incarnation of DF is a look I've wanted for him for years now. Of course, as many changes as he's gone through, I'm sure he'll change again in another couple years. I've been tempted to sit down and do a piece that's a time-line for all the changes he went through, since his initial creation 14, 15 years, ago?

ANOTHER October birthday, hm? Mine's on the 4th. Going to celebrate it in Scotland, in fact. I'm starting to TRY and make trips to the UK a more regular thing. We should try and grab a pint, sometime.

Ah yeah, I think I vaguely remember mention (whether it was to me or you saying in a journal or something) about you being in Europe. Y'know, I've never been to Scotland but it's on my list. Aw hey you're most welcome. I had a lotta fun working on this - the penciling and inking helped keep me sane when I was 'between computers' last year :) That original suggestion you made of a picture with them both in really ended up taking on a life of its own (though I realised once I got back on line the sword was nothing like the one you'd suggested, sorry! Will call it artistic license) :D
