Reminds me of a silly debate I once had with a friend. That since all sci-fi spaceships always use naval ranks like Admiral and Captain instead of regular army or air force ranks (which seems a more logical progression for a space program to go in) that they're all secretly hybrid ships designed to operate both in space and under water. We just never see them operating in their proper naval roles...
