I think most of what people get out of it is the fact that it's about the anticipation of just waiting there knowing that the animatronic characters are out there and want to get at you. so if you're susceptible to that sort of tension then it could be pretty scary.

and yeah. being a 3D modeler could make some things less enjoyable if you can easily point out the flaws in the modeling of characters in a game. especially horror games. it's like a buddy of mine that learned how to taste the ingredients in food in a culinary class, while as neat as that is to be able to pick out the flavors and taste everything that goes into some kind of dish, snack foods were totally ruined for him because of it.

Well, you ARE ahead of the curve there oh bitter citrusy man. I think it's the whole anticipation thing. Y'know something is going to happen, you just don't know when. Thank you. I thought it was a spooky concept, but by no means is it as scary as people claim. Like the whole Slenderman fad. I laughed when I finally got around to seeing what that was after having not known for years.

This game is played mostly by people who want to spook themselves, but not too much. It's not real fear, it's false fear.

One thing that's started to annoy me about the game is the bandwagon growing around it about being frightened by real life animatronics as a child. Growing up, I really don't know anyone who was scared to death of them. Probably weirded out at the VERY most , but not pissing my pants, giving me nightmares kind of scares. I'm almost convinced people are just over-exaggerating just to be a part of the FNAF fan club.
