This is the Delver Arcane Engineer, he performs a unique and important role in Delver society. Arcane Engineers first rose to prominence when the first arcane engineer, Thul'Tidin Fisden created the first mana core and along with core-engine. He discovered with applied alchemical feats that crystallized mana could be refined into a energetic sphere of magical power. This mana-core technology has become widespread within the Delver empire, it is slowly spreading to other races as it becomes more and more common. From crude-wheeled carriages that run on their own power to electricity in delver homes, but for all of its benefit there is some problems with harnessing arcane energy in such a way. One it is highly unstable especially bigger the core the more unstable it becomes, as such it has to be watched and carefully regulated or it could go critical. Lastly is it produces a mutagenic by-product which the Delvers are having a hard time disposing of but the Nissen Cenobites are more than willing to pay any price for it. Mostly due to their sick obsession with alternating and mutating their own forms into hideous forms to mimic their own fiendish patheon.

The are a cross between Alchemist and Scientist alike, as Delvers do not harness magic in a traditional mundane manner like most other races. This is because Delvers are naturally magically resistance as such this innate resistance makes it harder for them to learn traditional magic. So they use a similiar method of the Scientific Method applied to magic and the gadgets they create from them. They are constantly improving mana-core technology, exploring new frontiers of mana-mechanics. They use a complex yet ingenious invention which is referred to as a "Mana Accumulator" which is worn on their back and connected to their "Hand of Hespesus" named after the God of Magic, Knowledge, and Foresight. With these gadgets it allows Arcane Engineers to cast spells like other traditional spellcasters but have a far greater control over them particularly if they backlash. But if a rupture occurs in the Accumulator tank it could kill them if it goes critical, they have inscribed protection wards but they still only do so much.

The pic itself, this is a wandering Arcane Engineer that is apart of exploratory expedition. Looking for new sources of raw mana to set up processing plants to collect the raw crystallized mana and have it processed to be used for a number of reasons. They maintain all delver magic-tech, as such all Houses have their own retinue of Arcane Engineers along with a Union of Free Arcane Engineers that work with the Delver community to keep their machinery in working order for a price of course.
