Y'know, from a ways away from a passing look on the thumbnail, this guy reminded me of this recent nintendo character: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb.....er_artwork.png

YAY!!!!
I've gotta say, I've been eagerly awaiting (and hoping) for Walkabout since you first started on your TMNT kick.
And, of course, it's been well worth the wait. Really brilliant.
Baxter Stockman was the first TMNT figure I got, and a while later Walkabout was the seconed. But Walkabout was definitely the one that got me into collecting more Turtles. But even beyond Turtles, seeing the Walkabout figure was a touchstone moment in a way. I thought he was so cool. I don't know for sure why he created such a strong reation in young me, but he did.
You did him justice. I'm gonna go play some Midnight Oil to celebrate. Cheers, mate!

"Blue Sky Mine" is a good one. I'm gonna say "Stars of Warburton" from that album would fit this picture well.
I really like their "Red Sails in the Sunset" album too (and "Diesel and Dust" of course).
If I may go off on a musically related tangent, I recently got a new(ish) album by Tull guitarist Martin Barre called "Away With Words" that's kinda neat. Its all acoustic instrumental reworkings of a pretty good selection of lesser known Tull songs, "Moths", "Fire at Midnight", "One Brown Mouse","Paparazzi" and "Protect and Survive" to name a few. It was an import CD, so a bit pricey, but might be something you'd be interested in. (I haven't herad Ian Anderson's new one "Homo Erraticus" yet. But I assume you know about that one).
Anyway, please forgive my going off topic.

I've never been too keen on Midnight Oil's whole " plight of the workin' man " thing but they have a pile of good sounding songs.
OOH! I've thought about buying that Martin Barre album. So, it's good? I have one of his older albums but that one sounds really interesting.
I do have Ian's new CD, yes.

Yeah, Midnight Oil were political, but they didn't let their message get in the way of the music. Other band's could learn from them, I think.
I've only played Martin's album a few times yet. But I would say the whole album sounds very much like the instrumental "Under Wraps" and "Pussy Willow" tracks from "A Little Light Music" (in fact, Martin's version of "Pussy Willow" and the Light Music versions are very similar). So, hopefully that gives you an idea of what it's like.
How do you like Ian Anderson's new album? Does it share a similar sound to "Thick as a Brick 2"? I thought TAAB 2 was 'okay', but it doesn't stick with me. When I've listened to it, it just kind of washes over me and is forgotten almost as soon as it's over. Maybe I just haven't given it my full attention yet.
Maybe I just miss Martin on guitar.

Is Midnight Oil still around? I haven't heard much from them in centuries.
Hmmm... do I own " A Little Light Music "? Hmmmm..... I think I do. I hope I do cuz I wanna listen to those songs... actually... as I type, I think I DO have that album. I'll hafta spin it tonight. " Pussywillow " is one of my absolute favorite Tull songs.
Ian's new album does sound TAAB2-ish and it also features that ... spoken-word/rap thing he's been doing since J-Tull Dot Com but I like it. I wish something from his newer albums jumped out at me ( like a hit single ). It's very wordy though and is actually, like the TAAB albums, another concept album. The " kid " from TAAB did the lyrics for Homo Eraticus as well. I call Ian's more recent stuff " good listening music " because it's nice to put on while I'm drawing.
I'm not sure if there will ever be another Jethro Tull album. I think it's in the liner notes of Home Eraticus that Ian said that, since Tull music & his music are one in the same, and that the name Jethro Tull was never his first choice for a band name, all his new stuff will just be Ian Anderson solo projects. I don't think that means Martin will never play with them again though. Ian does have a band full of fresh young faces however... He keeps recording music to keep from going crazy with boredom in his senior years.

I believe Midnight Oil broke up in the early 2000's, though I think they might still play the occasional benefit concert if there's a cause to raise money for/call attention to. I think singer Peter Garrett actually got elected to some position in the Australian government afterwards.
I think Ian's recent singing style is at least partially a result of damage he's done to his vocal cords over the years. He had to alter the way he sings to avoid re-injuring them (I think). I seem to remember reading that the "Under Wraps" album did a number on him when it came time to perform the songs live. Not that I mind his newer stuff, though. It's still Ian Anderson.
I'll probably end up getting the new one eventually. I actually still need to get "Secert Language of Birds" and "Rupi's Dance" as well. Hmm, I'm not very current with his 'solo' albums. Maybe I'm just "living in the past".(Ha, ha, *sigh*)

Interesting. I'll have to do some Midnight Oil research.
I heard that Ian said his voice was at it's peak on " Under Wraps " but then he got a nasty umm... case of... laryngitis or something that, once he recovered, his voice was never the same. He almost lost it permanently I believe. I think his voice has been sounding better in the more recent albums though.... or I got used to it.
Comedy I wonder if they've ever released Living in the Past with the 2 excluded songs. I like collecting almost all things Tull... at least all their studio albums. Rupi's Dance is pretty good. I need to give his solos stuff s'more listenings.
Of the Tull albums, I still haven't quite warmed up to Too Old To Rock and Roll, Too Young To Die. I like the title track and one called Salamander ( cuz it's on the acoustic Tull collection ) but I need to listen to that album some more.
