*NOTE this is a closed species for now!*
F5 for a larger file!
Yes, this is an idea for an adoptable species, and yes, I should have some available soon. I don't know when that will be!
Below will be a more comprehensive thought on the species, but I wanted to mention my intentions with posting this first!
Me and my spouse
made this species over the weekend with the hopes of it being a collaborative adoptable species with lineart made by me and coloring by her. Each one of these creatures will be individual in design with new art made for each one. Common and uncommon designs will be for sale, rare creatures for auction, and customs will be available for purchase separately.
The features described are more listed as a starting point for adopts and customs, and regrettably this sheet doesn't do the BEST job of describing what they are, hence the description below. Sorry it's not very enlightening, hopefully this next part clears it up!KOKOTI
Kokoti are part of a much larger Realm of reality where Monsters live and serve lives. Unlike people in the Earth Realm, Monster realmers have jobs from birth that they perform, and Kokoti are born with the specific purpose of staying in the realm and protecting the area they populate.
Each Kokoti is different and built for different habitats, which doesn't mean that they cannot leave the area only that they are instinctually drawn to areas that they are more suited to from their version of birth.
Every monster in the Monsters Realm is imbued with a special form of individual energy called a Heart Stone. For most monsters the Heart Stone is on the inside of the creature, only being revealed to create a new generation, but Kokoti have theirs visible on their skin, as they have adapted to be choosy about their mates. Kokoti are choosy, and this process isn't exactly known, but it's not as common for Kokoti of the same type to mate as it is to see very different Kokoti to come together.
On the subject of mating, Kokoti don't mate in the way that Mammals do with an exchange of genetic material, like all other Monsters they imbue certain aspects of themselves into the next generation by giving up a part of their Heart Stone to their children. This doesn't mean they die, but eventually they require a form of death like a Pheonix, to restore their energy, giving up their memories and physical history in the process.
Kokoti have territories like other territorial animals, and can share with family but often live alone. Often when a Kokoti chooses a mate, their aspects are opposite enough that they do not match properly enough to share a habitat, and separate after their children are born and have grown large enough not to be so dependent on their parents.
The most unique part of Kokoti is that they have aspects of their habitat reflected on their bodies. This can be things like plant life, aspects of wildlife, history of the area, or a purpose required by the Kokoti to perform. Kokoti generally rearrange their features or change their features when they are reborn.
All monsters can die, and this happens by the destruction of their Heart Stone, but so long as it is not destroyed they can continually rebirth themselves when they are too injured physically or have expended too much energy creating children.
There are Kokoti for every corner of the Monster Realm, some with much larger territories than others, and territory wars happen often enough in more rural areas to keep the rate of Death and Rebirth/new children even instead of sweltering.
Each Kokoti has an incredibly diverse personality as well, some ranging to much more simple and Feral personalities and others being far more intelligent and intellectual. For that reason there are as many wars for territory as there seem to be peace treaties to all function in the same space. Kokoti tend to share space much more in developed areas, where other monsters make homes, and often create or mimic "jobs" that other monsters have in society. Still, each Kokoti is instinctually responsible for the area if harm comes it's way, and it will almost hypnotically protect the area from harm, occasionally at the expense of it's life.
Overall, Kokoti are a vast and expansive species with many great possibilities that have yet to be documented.

I can't stop laughing at this, especially that mouth part. In Czech and Slovak, kokoti means very nasty word for multiple penises.
HA! That's awesome.
