This is the type of art I so much love to commission, though I prefer full body myself. still even in this portrait you have the feeling of a full character, one who's story simply must be told. Wonderful work here, quite wonderful.

Hm... Interesting, I consider this one to be pretty "average" as far as my drawings go
Its probably because I look more at the technical side of things, rather than story and background of the character, etc

As a writer I look at an image and either do, or do not see a story. In this case you have created a character that is breast high in grasses, her head is cocked to the right a bit as she looks up, perhaps into a night sky. What she see's is expected, as evidenced by a lack of astonishment in her face. Likewise whatever it is has no real emotional hold upon her as her expression is one of curiosity rather than excitement. Her clothing is one of a successful hunter/explorer and its lack of excessive wear tells me that she has not been 'out' very long.

Continuing, the blush of soft light on her face indicates that whatever she is studying is reflecting, not emitting light, thus she may be looking at a natural moon or even a snow covered mountain reflecting the moonlight. She is of course an archer yet does not feel threatened, this is shown by her bow still being sling on her back and no evidence of her reaching for it, or any other weapon. Her ear indicates an anthropomorphic base stock, perhaps vulpine and her exposed skin is healthy, unscarred and unblemished meaning that she is well educated and either well cared for or very successful in her own right. The redness in her eyes could be natural reflection of light, or an indication of 'something else' while her lips are soft, delicate and innocent appearing while her hair is cut short as an adventurer/explorer would desire, well kept and clean. This is a very successful woman who's worth is not in her body, but her knowledge, skills and training. She is not normally a fighter yet is quite capable of defending herself should she need to.
