In the original "Underdog" cartoons, voiced by Wally Cox, Underdog always spoke in rhyme. The opening of each episode had people on the street shouting, "It's a bird!" "It's a plane!" like the old "Superman" introductions. Then came a child's voice saying "It's a frog!"

Then, the airborne Underdog would say his line: "Not bird, nor plane, nor even frog ... just li'l old me..." (and he crashes into the side of a building) "...Underdog."

Oh wow! I think I actually remember that! =D
