Academy of the Sorcerer Dragons

Glimpse of Solona's life sixty years before Ananda's Allies.


*A fifty foot tall anthro-dragon paces the academy floor while dozens of the same race watch him in seats above.* "Today class we will have a test on the lower races that are unable to tap into their magical capabilities, why that is and how it can be changed. As you know this test is credit for learning the powers of the lesser beings and you need twenty credits to pass this course. Also I do not have to remind you that the academy grounds is constantly monitored in a way that we know what type of spell is being or has been cast. So it will be impossible to cheat with magic... do you understand that Solona?"
*A blue dragoness grumbles as her name was called out which caused some of the classmates to snicker since the she has been known to cheat in most classes. The test papers were passed out with a slight motion of the professor and the work began. Solona got out a jar of ink and uses her claw as a writing tool instead of a quill. After twenty five minutes of paragraph after paragraph she motioned the papers to the box to which it landed in with the rest of the finished tests. As soon as the paper was in place Solona rested her head on the desk and entered her mental haven. Unfortunately the time of relaxing was cut to short to enjoy as the magic was detected and dispelled within a few seconds. The dragoness gives off a bored sigh as she had to wait another hour for the class to finish up and get another lecture on what the next section would be about.*
"Finally I get to have a break!" *Solona said as she walked down the marble hallways with the other students.* "No you cannot have a break. I need you to help with class. So follow me to my room immediately." *Solona knew that voice, it was the voice of Valthin who is a fellow dragoness that is both a student in a two of Solona's classes and a teacher in the next class.* "Let me guess Valthin, you want to use my Dream Realm for class?" *She responded with a smirk all the way to the classroom.* "Okay Solona, just sit in the center of the room and open your realm. I will invite others inside when they get here and THEN we can start the class."
*Solona followed orders by getting comfortable on the padded chair and starts to rest. The dragoness's mind took her to a large marble temple that was a lighter blue then her scales. She was on a throne drinking some wine and finally she had some time to relax. Although a door suddenly appeared to the side of her and two dozen class mates and Valthin came on through into Solona's personnel realm.*
*Valthin announced to the class with a cheerful tone.* "Like I said when you walked into the room class, this is Solona's unique power that she calls the Dream Realm. Solona, go ahead and explain to the others what this place is." *Realizing this is the first time in a class that she can be smug, Solona stood up and seemed to double her size instantly.* "This place is my Dream Realm, I call it that since the realm can only be accessed when the eyes of someone is closed. Which is why you have noticed that some professors pay more attention to me and do not let me more then blink in a class. In this place all can be felt just like in the real world of pain and pleasure. Yet it will not cause a change to your physical body."
*The teacher held up her hand to Solona to end her speech before anymore is explained.* "Thank Solona for showing me this place when she tried to cheat by having me some share notes before a quiz last week. Since we are here the topic of today will be of unique powers. We all know one of the things that separate us Sorcerer Dragons from the other races is our natural born power over the arcane forces. Yet we have all have a extra power that is unique or rare to our kind. Solona's Dream Realm for example has only been documented once to a dragon who became warlord since they can inform their forces with a blink. Although he could only keep the version of his Dream Realm open for less then a minute at a time, even with a lot of focus. While Solona here can just slip into her Dream Realm easily and stay here until her real eyes open. Here we can safely see what our unique powers can do without andy destruction to worry about."
*The class continued on as some of the students were called upon to show off and explain their unique powers and listen to Valthin's history of that rare type of natural born magic. Solona would have been bored since her realm was barged into, but the dragoness did not explain a few things to Valthin, like the power to duplicate one's self. So while one Solona was bored in class the another one was summoned off in the distance to which she could have time for herself. The blue dragoness summoned one of her tomes that was mentally stored in the dream realm and started to look over the viewing portal spell. In the real world Solona was unable to do this type of magic, but in the dream realm she was able to bend a spells in her favor since she can do whatever she wants to in her dream. Soon a oval view portal opened on the ground in front of her, this portal does not go anywhere in the real world but it is able to view actual events that are happening at places she has been to.*
*Looking at the portal screen she began to talk to herself.* "Now then what is going on in my favorite class... okay they are going to teach us how to capture spells during casting in my next class. I already have taught myself how to do that with my orbs. Okay lets see somewhere interesting far away... oh the kingdom that I have visited has gone to war. Hehe, it seems so easy to have those lesser races fight each other. So easy that I could start a war to happen with... posing as a demi-god with this power... then I would have those lessers follow my orders and... oh this is going to be fun." *Solona continued watching the kingdom until she was woken up by Valthin.*
"Class is over, thanks for letting me use your Dream Realm." *Solona looked up at her professor with a large smirk across her scalie muzzle as the combined memories of both Solona's were both in her mind.* "No worries, it was interesting having those people depend on my power for the whole class." *She got up from the chair and stretched for a moment and said with a snicker.* "As long as I did not drool while napping then this has been a good class. I know that you have to teach a class soon while I go to my offense spell class, but can we talk friend to friend instead of teacher to student until then?" *Valthin places a hand on her student's shoulder and nods yes in response. Solona took in a deep breathe before explaining.* "I have been thinking that after this semester I can go leave this island to have fun in the main land for the rest of my life... so I will go and live with the lessers beings and the other dragon races." *It only took a moment to think before Valthin responded in a kind tone.* "It is your life and your choice. Although I prefer you to get to Arcanist Absolute status of magic. Although if you spend enough time using your magic outside this place you can still earn that status if you have learned to master your own power by yourself. So how about this... I will have the right to dub you the status of Arcanist Absolute after I graduate. So I will check in on what you have been doing the next few decades out of academy and give you the status when you earn it."
*Solona gave her a tight hug that lasted for a few minutes until her remembered she was going to be late for her next class.* "Thanks for the support Valthin. Do not worry I will make you proud to give me that status and then you will see my great accomplishments." *Valthin's class was almost full as Solona left, so she thought to herself about Solona's decision did not come to a surprise at all. "Still have a few weeks of classes left for Solona to change her mind. But it seems that she has a passion for doing whatever it is in the main lands. Hmm... I could always give her the lessons on the things she misses out on... after she becomes Arcanist Absolute that is."
