These two have been in my head almost from the start, so it's about time I finally designed and put them down on paper as it were. :P
Meet Jamie & Brienne Aster-Sorenson. Jamie is almost 3 years old (2 years, 10 months to be precise) and Brienne is 18 months old. If they look a little bit odd, that's because they're hybrids. They may in fact be the only hybrid anthros in my world. The thing is, while you might see variations of canids or felines mix together (fox wolf, tiger lion, etc) it's simply genetically impossible for most species to interbreed.
Unless of course your mother is a renowned scientist and genetics expert.
The offspring of an American Shorthair feline (Emelia Sorenson) and an African Cape Hare (James Aster), Jamie and Brienne are anomalies. Emelia figured out a way to use FOY to regress her and James' DNA (in a test tube) along the evolutionary time-line to a common mammalian ancestor. The fertilized egg was then allowed to revert back up the evolutionary timeline, allowing the DNA to meld together in a viable embryo. And thus, Jamie was born.
Unable to duplicate the results of the experiment, his parents considered him a miracle and treated him as a prince, always getting what he wants and generally spoiling him. He lived high on the hog for the first year and a half of his life.
And then, along came Brienne. Az and Em are not entirely sure how she came to be. Well, of course, they know HOW, but not why. Maybe something happened in Em's body while she was carrying the FOY modified Jamie, or something happened during the experimentation phase of his creation, but somehow Brienne was conceived and came to term entirely naturally with the same genetic hybridization as her brother.
Brienne is a sweet girl, loving and gentle, but Jamie resents her intrusion into his own perfect little world and has a tendency to pick on her and tries to bully her from time to time. He's starting to warm up to her a little though, now that she's old enough to play with, but he likes things to be on his terms and can get bratty if challenged. Fortunately for him, Brienne is a pretty mellow baby and puts up with most of his ways, but I foresee a day coming when she's going to put him in his place. ;)

In terms of the hybridization technique or these two characters? I don't think there's gonna be a lot of incompatible species hybrids, primarily due to the tightly controlled regulation of FOY in this world andEm's not likely to share her knowledge on this.
As far as Jamie and Brienne go, they're likely to be featured more now that I know what they look like. there's just some things I want to draw which wouldn't fit with Brock's character and would need true kids to be believable. Also, will be nice to have some babs in my menagerie who are actually babs, as opposed to adult (brock) or pre-teen (Caleb).
