A short story I wrote for
gokaikiller He requested an inflation story of the Swords of Justice: Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion, and Keldeo. I hope you enjoy!
And yes, I can do other requests as well if anyone has one.
Just One Claw by SqueakyTails
Deep within the Giant Chasm came powerful roars that told of the great dragon known as Kyurem. A massive beast of a Pokémon, he could summon freezing winds to defeat any opponent, no matter how great. His heart, like his body, was cold and unfeeling. At least, that’s what the humans thought. Truth be told, appearances could not be more deceiving; this cold dragon had a warm, playful soul.
Terrakion jumped high in the air, flipping in the open cave to crash down on his friend Kyurem with heavy, earthen hooves. Kyurem, distracted by his other combatants, emitted a startled roar and fell to the ground with a deafening thud. Virizion took the opportunity to prepare a Sacred Sword attack; just as Kyurem rose, he was struck down again by her powerful move.
The icy dragon went on the offense, exhaling icy wind that glittered in the sunlight filtering through an opening to use Glaciate. Cobalion and Keldeo noticed the move and jumped backwards, yet their comrades weren’t so lucky. Virizion and Terrakion became encased in a shimmering, crystalline prison, unable to do anything but move as Kyurem finished them off with two Ice Beams. The ice surrounding them shattered and they tumbled to the ground, knocked unconscious by the force of his attack.
“Virizion! Terrakion! No!” Keldeo shouted.
“Calm yourself, Keldeo,” Cobalion instructed, “a frantic mind does not a Sword of Justice make.”
Keldeo turned to his mentor and replied, “Right, sorry,” just before he was sent flying by another Ice Beam.
“More importantly,” Kyurem grinned, “never turn your attention away from your foe.”
Embarrassed, Keldeo staggered back to his hooves, damaged but not out just yet. With a quick nod to Cobalion the two attempted a double assault, Keldeo jumping high and the air and letting loose a Hydro Pump from one side while Cobalion struck from the other with Sacred Sword. Undeterred, Kyurem swung his tail around to send Cobalion flying before using Slash to knock Keldeo out of the air. The little Pokémon did not get up.
“Once more, it comes down to you and me,” Kyurem commented.
“Indeed,” Cobalion replied as he readied an Iron Head.
“I can’t believe we lost again!” Keldeo exclaimed. The five legendaries rested in a secluded meadow near the Chasm.
“Kyurem has gotten much stronger recently. He must be feeling rather motivated,” Virizion commented, kneading the grass beneath her with a hoof in boredom.
“What can I say? Losing’s no fun,” Kyurem apologized.
“Well, it’s no fun for us, either! This is like the fifth time in a row you beat us!” Keldeo shouted with more than a hint of irritation.
“Sixth time, actually. I need to be ready for the trainer.”
“When is he coming, anyway?” Terrakion wondered aloud. “You guys have made this big deal about a human who will fight alongside Kyurem to save the world for the longest time now, but I haven’t so much as heard a hint about him.”
“Or her,” Virizion interjected.
“Or her,” Terrakion conceded.
“Not for a while, if my understanding of the prophecies is correct,” Cobalion spoke, eyes closed in thought.
“We probably have years to prepare, so don’t hold your breath,” Kyurem said, falling on his back with an earth-shaking boom. He lay in contemplation for a few moments before he spoke, “You know what? I’ll go easy on you all next round; I’ll beat you all with just one claw,” he boasted, brandishing one of his long, sharp claws in demonstration.
Keldeo snorted in amusement. “You? Beat all of us with one claw? You might be good, but I doubt that anyone is that good!”
Terrakion joined in, “Yeah, Kyurem, what are you thinking?”
“You doubt my power? Perhaps you’d like to make a bet.”
“Okay! Loser has to take a long, slow walk all the way through Castelia City in broad daylight.”
“Very well. You’re on!”
“Kyurem, what are you doing?” Virizion inquired, understandably surprised.
“See, while on an evening flight a few days ago, I came across an abandoned warehouse filled with… well, you’ll see,” Kyurem replied with a mischievous grin.
“What does that have anything to do with fighting?” Terrakion questioned. “I mean, I’d understand if it was filled with, say, a whole bunch of TMs, but otherwise I’m lost.”
“Trust me; I’m sure you’ll find it… swell.”
The four Pokémon approached Kyurem’s residence with a sense of anticipation. What would make Kyurem so confident he thinks he could win with only a claw?
Keldeo called into the cave entrance, “Hey! Ready to lose?”
“I certainly hope you are!” Kyurem called back. “Otherwise you’re in for quite a shock. …Now that I think about it, you’re probably in for a shock anyway!”
“Less talking, more fighting!” Keldeo shouted, charging in with his horn glowing with the power of Sacred Sword. His comrades followed close behind a little more level-headed.
Once inside, the four found Kyurem standing in a battle pose with four red tanks just behind him. Wasting no time, the legendary dragon fired an Ice Beam from an open maw, freezing Keldeo’s hooves to the rocky ground.
“H-hey! You said you’d only use one claw!” Keldeo complained, trying unsuccessfully to free himself
“Wrong; I said I’d only beat you all with one claw. Anything before the final blow is fair game,” Kyurem explained before solidifying the rest of his legs.
“That was a rather underhanded trick, Kyurem,” Cobalion chided as he dodged an Ice Beam.
“Oh, lighten up already!” Kyurem replied as he managed to freeze Virizion’s hooves in place. “Well, you’ll lighten up anyway, if you know what I mean.”
“No, I really don’t,” Terrakion rebutted while he rammed into Kyurem with a Sacred Sword. Kyurem took the hit stoically, taking advantage of his foe’s temporary vulnerability to freeze him in place as well.
Cobalion simply stopped and let Kyurem freeze his hooves to the stone beneath him. “What, no resistance?” Kyurem half-complained.
“It was only a matter of time before you froze me as well. You seem set on showing your surprise; why don’t you get on with it?”
Kyurem grinned. “That night in the warehouse, I found some helium. A lot of helium, actually. I brought some with me, as you can see.” He gestured to the tanks behind him.
“What’re you going to do?” Keldeo asked. “Give us squeaky voices so we faint of embarrassment? Suffocate us in a mountain of balloons?”
“I couldn’t do that; I only brought four balloons. Though, technically, they brought themselves.”
Virizion pieced it together. “You’re going to inflate us?” She spoke, wide-eyed.
“Bingo! You solved my puzzle!” Kyurem congratulated. “As your prize, you get to go first!” Virizion let out a little yelp as her opponent reached for the first tank.
Kyurem pushed the nozzle into her mouth, an easy task due to her hyperventilation. The legendary winced as her tan-furred belly filled out with the cold gas. Within moments her enormous belly squeezed against her frozen legs, doing its best to free them from their icy prison. “Ah. My apologies,” Kyurem said with mocked courtesy. He shattered the ice beneath her with a strong kick, causing her legs to spring out and rest on her globe of a stomach. She slowly rose into the air, bobbing upside-down as more helium forced its way into every inch of her body. Her friends watched in shock as she swelled ever bigger, stretching even larger than Kyurem. Squinting, Keldeo could make out green fur through her voluminous belly. The strain was evident on her panicked face; she squeezed her eyes shut from the effort of trying to keep all the helium inside of her. Upon noticing her strain, he shut off the flow of helium.
“Remind me again how this has anything to do with our fight,” Terrakion said, wincing in sympathy for his friend.
Kyurem removed the hose, holding the ballooned Pokémon between his clawed arms. Virizion winced as she felt sharp claws dig ever so slightly into her fragile, taut skin; she watched Kyurem in fear. The dragon held her down with one hand as he held up the other in demonstration.
“I said I would beat you with only one claw,” he spoke with a mischievous grin. Virizion’s eyes widened in fear just before Kyurem pushed a claw into her, causing her to burst into shreds with a deafening bang. “And so I shall.” Green and tan confetti fell around him.
He selected another tank from the three remaining and lumbered over to Keldeo. Despite the young Pokémon’s heavy, fearful breathing, he kept his muzzle clamped firmly shut in defiance.
“Now, now,” Kyurem chided, “Are you going to open up, or am I going to have to use the… other opening?” Keldeo’s expression contorted in horror.
“Hey! Kyurem!” Terrakion called. The icy Pokémon turned to face the Ground-type. “Let me go first,” he volunteered.
“Well! Isn’t that kind of you,” Kyurem commented. “Come to think of it,” he grinned back at Keldeo, “I think I’ll save you for last.”
Keldeo exhaled sharply in relief as Kyurem turned away. Still in shock, he hardly noticed as Terrakion swelled into a giant balloon beside him. After a while, he sufficiently recovered to see a Terrakion so large as to comfortably hold all five of them, even if Virizion wasn’t a pile of scraps. Still the Pokémon inhaled more and more helium, totally comfortable with the immense volume of gas flowing into him. Just when Keldeo thought Terrakion, now a giant brown ball larger than a house, couldn’t take any more, the helium sputtered out the last of its contents.
Kyurem was surprised. “Well done! I knew you were tough; just not that tough!”
“So… do I get to stick around?” Terrakion queried with a calm grin. Kyurem’s only reply was to pop him as well, sending brown shreds in every direction.
“Terrakion!” Keldeo cried.
“Alright, Cobalion; your turn!” Kyurem called as he reached for the first of two remaining tanks. Cobalion complied with an open muzzle as Kyurem inserted the hose and turned the valve. Expressionless, almost defiant, Cobalion swelled into a huge blue balloon, the lift of helium offsetting his weight and pushing him into the air. Just as he swelled bigger than Kyurem, his expression never wavering, he, too, burst into a thousand blue and yellow pieces. Startled, Kyurem jumped back. “Oh. Well. He couldn’t take all that much. What a shame.”
It was finally Keldeo’s turn. “Don’t worry about our little bet, Keldeo. I’m calling it off. Your expression is reward enough!” Keldeo was terrified, clamping his muzzle shut and hyperventilating through his nostrils. “Go on, open up,” Kyurem insisted. Keldeo timidly shook his head in a final act of defiance. “So, you’d rather I use an alternate entrance?” Kyurem proposed, gesturing to Keldeo’s hindquarters. In response, the Colt Pokémon shut his eyes tight as if berating himself and slowly let his muzzle open.
Kyurem wasted no time in inflating his final opponent, opening the valve on the tank as far as it would go once the nozzle was securely pushed in Keldeo’s mouth. His eyes snapped open in surprise as he puffed up completely round in an instant and kept swelling while he, too, rose to the limit of the hose. Kyurem examined him thoroughly before walking a few feet away and holding out a claw.
“I’ll guess you won’t get much bigger than this,” Kyurem explained. “So either you inflate yourself onto my claw… or you just pop like Cobalion. Won’t this be a fun experiment?”
Keldeo shook his head, giving Kyurem a pleading look. Kyurem only responded to shake his head as well, too focused on watching Keldeo swell ever larger. Keldeo felt his giant belly stretch tight, yet the cold gas continued to flow into him. His limbs were forced perfectly sideways by the intense pressure of the helium; he was reaching his limit. To his own surprise, he managed to take more air, stretching his impossibly tight belly even larger.
Then he felt a cold claw prick his belly. He braced for the explosion, but none came. Instead, the slowing expansion prolonged his anticipation, very slowly pushing himself deeper and deeper onto Kyurem’s claw.
“Looks like it’s all over,” Kyurem spoke. “See you in a little while!”
See me in a little while? Keldeo thought as the claw pushed harder against his taut, thin body. What does that—
Keldeo opened his eyes and got to his hooves. He looked around to see his four friends watching him with a warm expression.
“Woah… what happened?” he asked in a daze.
“You recovered from bursting,” Virizion explained.
“I’m not… dead?” he replied, blinking away his exhaustion.
“You thought I killed you guys?” Kyurem exclaimed. “I’m sorry. Keldeo, I thought you knew popping wasn’t fatal! Please forgive me!”
Keldeo looked to the other members of the Swords of Justice. They shared a nod before turning back to Kyurem. “Hold him down!” Keldeo shouted.
Delighted, Kyurem let himself be tackled by the three legendaries. “I thought you might say that,” he said in amusement. He turned his head to look at Keldeo. “There are a couple more tanks behind those rocks.”
And yes, I can do other requests as well if anyone has one.
