I was mowing along the side of the house and the backyard before the predicted rainstorm and this was uncovered, the first praying mantis I have seen on the property in 40 years. Considering the color of it I am now not surprised I have not seen any as it is well camouflaged against the foundation of the house. None of the macro shots came out so I had to crop this one to get a close up. I found it funny how the ants gave it a wide birth. The video I shot is good and showed this but my tired breathing came in loud over the soundtrack.
