With the "Use your own eyes" type heads unless you are close or use a really powerful flash the eyes almost always look black in pictures. Look at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1445424/ to see the difference.
Cosmo is that way as well http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1145444/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/953435/ granted in the second shot not using the normal eye black to blend in the head to me as we were on the cruiseship and didn't want the tell tale Jack Sparrow eyes after taking it off ;)
