I think I get the gist; Nadira was picked on and ridiculed growing up, particularly about her looks. Finally at one point, she had enough and began getting more and more assertive, especially when her figure began to fill out. Now things have swung the other way; she's grown into an un-apologetic, unafraid "bad girl", but instead of picking on her now, most people now give her a wide berth because she intimidates them instead, leaving her rather lonely.
