That was challening, but I really like the effect :D

My assumption has always been that dragons over a certain size or who go over a certain height would need a radio headset and to chat with air traffic controllers, but otherwise be treated like helicopters due to the short landing of a good wing flare. I even picture things like a HUD on an eyepiece that has an altimeter and a radar display for safety.
True, but we require them on all existing aircraft...and the possibility of a mid-air collision could be high enough in some areas to make it a real problem. Still, there would probably be an operating ceiling underneath which there would be no issues, like with remote control planes (and amateur UAVs) in the current world.
I think they'd whiplash themselves if they were too strong...but I could easily see some sort of brace that could be remotely locked and unlocked, or a wearable set of electricly powered propellors. A harness with solar panels on the back and you could get a bit of flight assistance for long flights, if the weight wasn't too much to bear.

I also agree. Never thought of dragons as creatures of unlimited abilities. So yes, this join of dragons and planes is a natural consequence and would need some laws and regulation to work together well. In fact it's even natural for me to make dragons use some air vehicle as well. In fact jets are faster and can reach greater distance than a dragons (in my personal opinion of course). So why not? A neat idea of dragons and technology

I agree on that. Dragons would be treated like helicopters / VTOL Aircraft. Helicopters use runnways due (to my understanding) have less force on the blades when taking off in speed (forward speed of course). So I guess the same applies for a dragons too. Run among the runway (because, why else do we call them RUN-ways? XD) so it would be less tiering for him/her to take off.
Another key part to airports is that unless it's a purpose built heliport, then you have to land at the airport in order to have access to services like fuel and maintence. Also would make it safer in landing, to help avoid Vortex ring state ( helicopter descends into its own downwash and loses all lift ), which is prevented by having some lateral velocity.
Aside from that, in my experience, helicopters usually take off and land in their own area away from the runway at airports, or at least the local one near me, but they interact with the traffic pattern same as planes.

It's wonderful...
And it actually could be the illustration for one of my dragon-related stories I have written and posted here on FA many, many years ago: "Alpine Air-Traffic Control"

Thanks Ray ^^ About the draconic pose - for everyone a draconic pose is something different. For you t should have his legs slightly more spread, and for us it's ok. Just wanted to say that there are to many interpretations and to many interpreting people to assume something as a correct draconic pose. We would say it's the matter of individual preferences
