Nyxis and Eflasia have a talk.
This scene didn't seem to fit well anywhere in the main story--Which makes sense, since Nyxis keeps her love life separate from everything else. I was originally hesitant on writing on this subject matter, but it is still very much a part of her character, and I think, lends a little more explanation towards the person she is.
So here it be. Enjoy. =)

I must confess that I find relief in knowing that definitively, there is no sapphic eros nor desire for sapphic eros between Nyxis and Efflasia.
Largely because I have a bat character of my own who does have a relationship with a princess and when I found out about Nyxis, I was pretty worried that I might be accidentally ripping off our friend Defiance's character.
Does that mean something is wrong that I worry this much about not intruding upon others?

XD I've mentioned in quite a few places that they are quite happy being friends!
And from taking lots of courses examining copyright, I think coming up with your own story and seeing that others have something similar doesn't count as ripping off. People aren't telepathic so that's just silly. :P

I can't say I'm surprised that she and Eflasia aren't lovers, honestly Nyxis seems the kind of person perfectly happy without romance, which I must admit I've never quite understood. Now that's not to say that it's wrong or anything, I just don't get it is all. I understand it intellectually, but not in here. *touches chest*
Of course, I've also never quite gotten the idea of the monarchy, all it takes is one bad ruler and the entire system is a problem. Maybe I don't understand it properly and of course Disney makes it look ideal, but we all know that no system is perfect. I also know there are multiple kinds of monarchies. Suffice it to say, it's not a system I've ever wanted to be a part of, however, I wouldn't mind a visit or diplomatic relations.
I've always been of the mind that friends and family stand above all. "You do things for family." Of course, as you've pointed out before, you're not subscribing to that school of thought. Regardless, it's a personal choice.
You know, it seems that on a small level Nyxis reminds me of Dogbert a little. Just a little.

It’s so nice to see they’re not together. I often get annoyed when the main characters of a story are forced together despite everything, and I feel you’ve described everything perfectly. Especially the way they’ve grown up and the situation they’re in, romance just isn’t important.
