So I was looking through my old art and giggling at it when I stumbled upon this image and the accompanying text:
"Well now, it's been forever(*Counts on fingers* Ahehe, actually, 5 months) since I've drawn anything for myself. This began as a sketch, then practice for cell-shading, then I said, "what the heck let's finish it!"
About time Nyxis got a ref for her uniform. ^^
Don't ask me how her wings can magically go through the cloth... I haven't thought up that part yet. Be creative! :D"

I was 17. That was so long ago, I don't remember drawing this. That was so long ago, I didn't know what a tablet was. This was inked on paper, scanned in, and colored using a mouse(and a painstaking 8+ hours of my life, the usual for big images back then.)
I really love the colors and the pose, but OH NO THE ANATOMY. OH NO WHY DID I THINK SHE LOOKED GOOD WITH A WOLF NOSE. OH NO WHEN I THOUGHT FANCY WORDS MEANT GOOD DIALOGUE. Dreaded memories from my emo teen phase are coming back, and it is the most mortifying thing. X'D
So um, enjoy the old art and remember, there is always room for improvement. 8'D

*ahem* Screaming aside... why is it that the first thing, the LITERAL first thing artists go to when creating a character is that really stoic, troubled person with a sad backstory over a song or quote that is like... really depressing and sad and shiest? And... oh god, preteen Deviant art "can you draw my character" requests are flooding back to me... oooh god. If I ever had a chance, I would apologize to the many artists I pestered to draw my OC.
...I rambled longer than I thought I should have. I apologize.
