Versals are large, ornate initial letters, so named because they were used at the beginning of paragraphs and verses. These initials were inspired by Gothic manuscripts and are “historiated” with Pokémon with matching initials:
A for Aipom,
B for Buneary,
C for Charizard,
D for Dratini,
E for Eevee, and
F for Farfetch’d
Note:
I originally didn’t want to use Stage 2 evolutions, but I made an exception for Charizard so I could include each of the six playable Pokémon characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
