An interesting idea. Once the sale has gone ahead and the monies paid - then there is no need for the Madam to keep the sale a secret. A quiet but fast word to Luther culd mean that Amon is technically freed.. the Drakes sorely pissed off (which likewise suits Luther), and the Hyena's blameless.

That's just it. If Amon is freed by this, the deal comes out and it becomes clear that the treaty is broken.

I'm guessing, but without the treaty the island won't be a neutral port anymore and if it's location is strategically important enough, the hyenas stand to loose everything they have. Luther could either blackmail the entire island so he keeps quiet, alert his goverment of the broken treaty or, if he has enough men, take the island by force. Considering several factors, he may have enough men for this.
Just a theory.

The hyenas could claim to not know what the drakes intended to use the slaves for. After all, it's not like they notorized an agreement with the drakes clearly outlining the terms of slave usage. ;)

But someone selling their slaves to someone without asking what they are for is stupid in this case. Considering the size of these reptiles, they can't transport too many slaves off the island with the longboat shown on the cover.

I actually think it's going to be Esha since due to her pregnancy and now having a child she has probably earned the house even less then Amon.

Why? The loss was only a few months. Esha has still years of ptofit in her. BTW, depending on the laws, the child may be a slave as well. If Esha is sold, the owner would have to hire a nurse or find someone to sell the child to.
