I LOVE Rocky Mountain Fur Con.
I remember the first time I went to RMFC and hosted my Voice Acting Panel. The room wasn't very large, I was given a very early slot, and I tried out a new format that didn't really do that well. Still, the room was overcrowded, and the support I got was fantastic. So fantastic, it's one of the only times I made a point of going to the "scritch n' bitch" session at the end of the con just to let the organizers know how well supported I felt by the staff. They checked up on me, despite the early hour, got me a projection screen when I asked, just went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of.
It's been an honor to host my panel at RMFC every year I can. And the support and enthusiasm just grows with every year. In 2013, it was off the charts. I had a larger room that still filled up. I only ask for 2 hours to do my panel-- the staff gave me 3. Twice. This is only the "Voice Acting Workshop" panel I held. Later I'll post the recordings from "Advanced Voice Acting", a first time panel I debuted at this con. And finally, the space I was given was perfect. I'm used to dealing with noisy spaces with loud air conditioners and loud hallways. RMFC provided me with a quiet room where I was able to get some of the best recordings I've ever gotten in my panel. Listen to these recordings carefully-- I think you'll hear it.
But most of all, there is an enthusiasm to the attendees I have at RMFC that no one can match. The furs at this con LOVE the panel. You'll see that not only did I record 24 scenes in this one panel, but people went up again and again-- they were having so much fun, they just wanted to keep doing it. And I just loved it. The most important thing to me whenever I host my panel is to make sure my attendees are having fun. And I'm very confident, these guys had FUN.
I think I also got the biggest compliment I've ever gotten at this convention. Not during this panel, but during the Advance Workshop, a woman left early. No big deal, people come and go all the time. But she returned an hour later, near the time I would have wrapped up, but because things were going so well, I went into overtime. She apologized to me for having to step out, telling me she didn't want to, but she had to because her boyfriend had to propose to her on stage.
And as soon as he was done, she came right back to my panel.
Yeah. That happened.

Hmm...having never been to RMFC, what day(s) do you usually have your panel(s)? While it's shameful, I've never managed to get to the con, even though I live 45 minutes away (which around here is nothing). But I do think I'm going to go next year, if even for only part of the time. And I'd like to catch your panels if I can, but if I only get a couple days to go look, I'll have to make sure they're useful days.
