I don't understand why Heathcliffe and Cattanooga Cats are on your list. They seem neutral, if anything.
The things on both ends of your list that I have seen:
* Tommy (It's good, if a little on the pretentions/artsy side; recommended for viewing, but a bit overrated.)
* Underdog (Great cartoon series, but it's just mindless fun.)
* Idiocracy (Interesting premise with vulgar humor and mediocre performance)
* Family Guy/American Dad/The Cleveland Show (Usually too vulgar to be funny.)
Things I think you missed on your list of good movies:
* The Secret of N.I.M.H.
* Stardust
* Enchanted
* Anything by Pixar. Even their not-particularly-great stuff like Cars and Cars 2.
Things I think you missed on your list of good cartoons:
* Freakazoid!
* Futurama (Despite some vulagirty, relentless references and visual gags are very stimulating for the mind.)
* Chowder (As above, minus the vulgarity.)
Category missing from the study:
* Books. Always encourage reading for the mind; not as a replacement for other recreation, but as a supplement to it.
