Hehe, I have another squad of them... These are green-base with blue runes, the others are red base with yellow runes. ^^
In the fluff of the game, the runes are rather important, it is the foundation of the magic that lets them move. :) Visually for me, those are lines of energy that trace along the ground and surfaces, as the spheres float, and arc energy at their enemies, at the direction of their druid master! :)
