Hey buddy.
I'm gonna be a li'll bitch right now and write a "not so funny" reply.
I'm not mad - or irritated at all. I'm just a little tired of these constant "modern is better than ancient" comments.
It's like this. I have a genuine interest in old history and historical objects. Modern warfare and the history around it sadly doesn't interest me at all. I just can't bring myself to be interested in it. I have tried. The thing about modern beeing better than ancient requires only a very short and precise analysis: "NO SHIEET"
I mean, our different eras are sepparated by about a thousand years of tactical and tructural development. OF COURSE the moderns stuff will do a better job protecting you. It just doesn't interest me at all.
I study and respect the actual function and durability of historical artifacts! I respect what man could make by such relatively simple means and extraordinary crafting skill. When I see a hand made helmet, I don't just see a piece of armor. I see the earth from which it comes, the furnace processing the metal, the people behind the refining of the steel and the hammer, shaping a single piece of flat steel into a full helmet - without rducing the thicknes of the plate.
It's nothing personal, man. And I still want to have you around!
It's just that I like my helmet. So no thank you.
