"You threw me away."
Lately with all my fumblings in depression and anxiety and other lame things, I've connected a lot with fictional characters.
Maybe because there's safety in it versus connecting with real people, or maybe it's just because fictional characters are exaggerated parts of personality or habit that we relate to.
I've always been obsessed with Phantom of the Opera- ever since we sang it in a chorus show for sixth grade.
And in my life right now, with something I've been dealing with I've come to feel a lot like the Phantom.
Just the way things ended up for him.
Which might sound sad if you've seen the 2004 movie, but it's kind of inspiring to relate to a character you've admired for ages. Despite that relation being melancholy.
That being said, I've been listening to this on repeat. It's so beautiful. I've wanted to play violin ever since I can remember, I have an Aunt on the Australian side who plays violin and travels doing that as well as her visual art- but I've never gotten to touch it myself.
I hope to try though, maybe all of this will kickstart that.

As lovely as Lindsey Sterling is, I much prefer the 2004 movie's take on the song, or actually, Tarja's version is even more keen to my type of style. If you've not listened to that version --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZMraAGlpwc - Gives me chills <3
*offers hugs* Don't let it drown you, depression can be mettlesome and most have had to endure the nightmares. Don't let it consume you hon, if it can be dealt with. *shakes fist at the bully called depression*

Man, you and I share even more interests than I thought kida creepy but cool too which is awesome I like creepy cool.
I've had a connection with The Phantom ever since I was 7 years old when my mom took me to see the original cast of POTO on broadway.
Its left such a mark on me, I cried at the end and still do when I see the play or movie. I remember asking to have the play sound track when we were leaving the show and
getting it and listening to it on CD of course until it literally got so buffered and used it stopped playing. I always hoped that Christine might change her mind and go with the Phantom but yeah, she never does ;n;
I know your feels right now, I just lost my oldest friend. My cat who was 16, Clefairy yes after the pokemon (I found her on my family's farm as a kitten when pokemon first came out). but anyway, I understand how you're feeling and the entire POTO score and songs are just the kind of music I'd listen to when I get this way.

Totally understand the relating to fictional characters. This piece stood out to me for a different reason though....when I was a kid, living across the river from the NYC, my father would take me to Broadway shows often. It was something only the two of us did together and I will never forget those trips. We saw Phantom a total of 5 times, and loved every single one. So when I saw this, I remembered my father. I know it's going to seem corny, but thank you. :3 And that music piece is one of my favorites, but 'wishing you were somehow here again' and 'the point of no return' are my absolutes.
Great pic! I love POTO as well, its such a great musical. And was a very out there novel back in its time.
I'm not sure if you know or not, but there is a book called 'The Phantom of Manhattan' and its a sequel to the Musical version of POTO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ph.....m_of_Manhattan
Andrew Lloyd Webber also made this book into a musical called 'Love Never Dies' It didn't do as well as the first however :/ so they had to cancel it I think a week or so after it came to stage. Luckily! There is a soundtrack, and you should totally check it out! It has some great songs in it as well! Hope you enjoy them <3
*Course if ya knew all this already, then just ignore my rambles lmao XD*
