This is another Character bond pic featuring the Undead queen Oblivia Crosshaven, and her champion, Orion Schilt.

Oblivia and Orion: The bond that Oblivia and Orion share can, as Oblivia states, “transcend even death”. The two initial met after Oblivia summoned Orion to her realm with a chain of events that lead the black panther to her domain. Oblivia expressed surprised when Orion did not show fear upon seeing her initial emaciated, sparra drained state; even expressing more so when he allowed her to rejuvenate herself by absorbing some of Orion’s sparra. Due to observing Orion for sometime and seeing the many things he did, such as allowing the Fenrius family to stay with him, and his attitude to others, Oblivia states that Orion is very different than many others that she has observed in her lifetime. This observation led Oblivia to ask if Orion would assist in her goal or regulating the world of the living and the dead by acting as her champion, eliminating the shadows and recruiting others to the cause. While initially hesitant to say yes, Orion agreed to assist Oblivia, although he was confused as to why Oblivia choose him.

Oblivia acts as both mentor and spiritual guide to Orion, encouraging him to continue on and to fight for what he believes in. Many would argue that the relationship between her and Orion is strictly “Master and servant” or “Queen and knight”, however this accusation could not be further from the truth. Oblivia cares very deeply for Orion, so much so that his overall well being matters more to her than the overall success of the missions that she sends him to. In a way, Oblivia acts like a mother figure to Orion, encouraging him and caring about his physical and mental well being. A good example of this, is when Orion doubts himself and his skill, in which Oblivia reassures him that his abilities are much higher than what he perceives. Oblivia states that Orion possesses a power that he is unaware of, the power to reunite others as well as change their way of thinking. This has been proven by his ability to not only befriend the people he meets on his journey, but to also form strong relationships with them. Oblivia also states that Orion’s potential is, while dormant, boundless and able to recreate the world. This also explains why Oblivia choose Orion to defend the world, instead of the countless others of both the living world and the afterlife. Oblivia has seen what only a mere portion of Orion’s potential is capable of, performing feats such as: freeing a corrupted Alsara from her dark bonds, engaging Soliana in a one-on-one battle, stopping a possessed Nuova from destroying countless lives, and even clashing with the gladiator champion Herphefony and winning. The final instance that shows Oblivia was right in her choice is Orion’s inability to become corrupted by darkness, something that many have succumbed to in the past.

Orion cares about Oblivia just as much as she does him. Orion is able to see past Oblivia’s appearance to see the warmth that she houses; this would explain why he was in no way intimidated or frightened upon first meeting her. Orion respects Oblivia, but he sometimes thinks she places too much importance on him, as he sometimes feels unworthy to bear the responsibilities bestowed upon him, but this stems from self-doubt. Orion sometimes believes that Oblivia is merely encouraging him so that he doesn’t feel inadequate about his skill, as a result he sometimes attributes his successes to sheer luck. Orion often confides in Oblivia on matters that cause him inner turmoil, showing that he is comfortable when it comes to talking to her openly. Orion sees Oblivia as more of a mother than a queen, yet and still he still finds it necessary to refer to her as “Miss”, in spite of her official title and position of power. Orion does what Oblivia asks without question, as he has no doubt about the morality of her intentions, showing a deep trust in the underworld goddess. Another testament of Orion’s admiration for Oblivia, is his ritualistic embraces of her, something Oblivia looks forward to, as she states Orion’s “warmth is welcoming”.
