*giggles* i shall have to send a message in your direction about it, but... the first two chapters are available on my profile, if you grab them and have a gander that'll give you an idea of the sort of thing you'd be letting yourself in for :) The idea i had is to get a piece of art done for each chapter, to be released alongside the novel as a free portfolio collection (just to point out that i wouldn't make any money on that :) ). The novel proper has nine chapters, though due to the length of some of them this may become eleven, and the concept is to let each artist pick a scene to portray :)
There's so much light coming from below and in front as well as behind and to the side of him that I couldn't really figure out where to put shadows on the ground/walls for him with light coming from so many directions so I just kind of winged it and did a lot of soft shadows everywhere. Where do you think the shadows should be? :)

It's not as bad as i think i made it sound.
But since you ask
The pillar right behind him, at least it looks like there is one behind him, with most of it hidden behind his hair and a little bit of it poking out from behind his one ear, unless i am seeing something there isn't there it should have a shadow or three.
Then there's the shadows on the pillar to the right, it looks a bit like the shadows don't point the same direction, with the ones on the top pointing more to the right then the ones on the bottom, but i think the ones on the bottom should be a bit more to the right as it looks like the light is coming in from the left, sort of like it looks on the top.
So that's just about the only things i think is a bit off, with some other very small things, but it could just be my perspective of the picture there's a bit off.
Also bear in mind, that i'm no artist, i could be completely wrong.
nonetheless it's still a amazingly beautiful picture.

You don't have to be an artist to give critiq :) You see stuff every day, so you know what stuff generally looks like and you'll be able to tell if something looks off. After staring at a drawing for hours and slowly working it up, it begins to look "familiar" and "normal" so it gets more difficult to spot mistakes. So I appreciate critiq from others, no matter who they are ^^
