A new species I created and will be selling over on my adopt account soon.
I wanted to create mine first as an example of what they look like. Males vs females. The male is on the left. I have yet to name any of them but they already have a story.
Jeracals were once a desert living species but were over harvested for the pet industry. Just about all of their wild nature has been bred out of them and can be very docile. There are not any "wild" jeracals left but there are a few bandit groups made up of those who ran away from abusive owners. They are the closest to "wild" or them in their natural state but still have issues living freely. Many can't cope and die from illness, infection, or starvation from lack of knowledge on how to gather food. Those that manage to band together into a group either sneak into traveler's camps to steal supplies or will swarm travelers in a raid. There are some who have specialized in raiding and have become rather vicious. They still however never harm their own species opting to recruit the newly freed Jeracal but don't enforce enrollment as several still just wonder back into civilizations. Because of the constant attacks there are groups that will hunt feral Jeracals and capture those with rare qualities to force breed them. There are even groups that will raid the feral Jeracal camps to kidnap infants in order to sell them. "Wild" traits are not very fashionable however and any Jeracal that refuses to be tamed can be viewed as dangerous and will be put down. (Even if they are not actually a danger to others.)
The basic life of a Jeracal is to assist their owner. They are never taught how to fight and to teach one even defense is unlawful and can potentially label the Jeracal as a danger to society and will get them put down. Instead they are often taught how to upkeep belongings and specific trades to help benefit their owner. Many will be taught how to clean and cook. Sometimes the offspring will be auctioned off before the mother has even given birth. During said auctions the mother's linage is announced to better sell the youth.. even if it's all a lie. This is more common in females of uncommon coloring as it'll boost sales for her infants.
If you purchase a Jeracal adopt you are not required to keep them to storyline but it is much encouraged. You can also make them herms even though that too is against storyline. I will soon be posting more about the species on my Compiled Species Information List: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5994311/
My character's storyline if you're curious. :3 They have yet to be named atm but I'm thinking a name starting with K for the male, F for the mother, and an S for the female on the right. For the sake of letting you keep track I'll just call them by their letters for now. :3
A female tailor recently came into success over a certain clothing design and decided to finally purchase a Jeracal as a permanent assistant instead of hiring youths off the street and not being able to guarantee their sewing skills nor that they might leave and start an opposing business with all her secret techniques. So she went to an auction and purchased a then young F (the middle one) which she taught all her sewing secrets too. Luckily Jeracals aren't known for spreading rumors nor making their owner look bad. They aim to please their owners which in turn treats the Jeracal. F became very knowledgeable and even had an eye for fine threads and fabric. She could now help her owner turn down deals for fabrics that looked pretty but had terrible flaws in them that the owner would otherwise overlook. Granted F was never in charge of the dealing herself as Jeracals don't have the authority to look at any other species as an equal but her owner would always pull her to the side and ask her opinion on things. F is very quietly spoken as a good Jeracal should be. She'll never raise her voice no refuse a command. She'll remain near her owner in case she's ever needed. With even more new found coins filling the owner's purse she decided to look for a Jeracal stud and breed F. F was of uncommon coloring and there was no way the owner could afford a rare coloring stud so settled on a certain male stud owned by the village librarian and historian. The stud was much older then F and was quite stunning to look at so it was the best match.
Before the birth of S (the female on the far right) word spread that the Jeracal that F was bred to met an untimely death at the hands of nonJeracal bandits during a delivery. The news depressed F and the caring owner felt sad for her and purchased for her a private room in the tailor shop. After all she'll be giving birth soon and making a room just for the Jeracals made sense to the owner. This did please F and soon after S was born. The owner was very surprised to find that the infant was of rare coloring. Soon F was lavished with more gifts. She was now a known breeder for a rare coloration for the village. The shop began to get more visitors there merely to catch sight of the rare colored jeracal but through smooth talking of the owner would often purchase something before leaving. Now with S older and helping around the shop the owner had enough to browse around for a new stud for F. Always following closely behind was S who was never allowed to be left alone for her safety.
A breeder and merchant was in town and had with him several breeding male. The man often did dealings with the owner of the tailor shop so was very friendly to the owner. He however was curious if she was planning on breeding S but the owner felt she should be a bit older before then. During the talk though S had found a male around her own age with interesting markings and a weird attitude. It drove the young Jeracal's curiosity into over drive. He was sitting on the ground looking very annoyed. He even had a chain around his neck to make sure he stayed in place. The owner seeing the curiosity in S asked the merchant breeder about the male.
K was the offspring of ferals. His mother was captured because she had a lovely coloring that was very uncommon. It is believed his father was perhaps the leader of that specific feral group. Either way after the capture it turned out the female was pregnant and gave birth to K but was separated from her during a Jeracal bandit raid during the merchant's travels. He was instead fostered by the merchant's other Jeracals and the merchant had plans to stud him out but the youth began acting out after another Jeracal raid had happened a year or two back. The merchant believes it's possible K saw his mother in the group and is now retaliating. K refused to breed so in hopes of getting some form of profit out of the male he wanted to sell him to a Jeracal trainer or perhaps anyone that was interested in him. Most of the sales of the boy were refused and the merchant feels that if the Jeracal continues to act out he'll have to put him down. The tailor owner offered to take the boy in and the merchant agreed to the price that was much lower then what the uncommon coloring was worth but it was better then losing money by putting it down.
Still in chains K was brought back to the shop. Once inside and in the Jeracal room he was released from the chains. As the owner turns to leave K reaches out to grab hold of the door thinking it will soon be locked only to have S tackle him in a hug. The door swings shut but no locking sound was heard. F and S began to pamper him and he sits there awkwardly deciding to stay and sorta behave himself. He has never been glomped before after all... no was anyone ever excited over him. He's been pampered yes... but it was always on order or reluctantly. He had learned about his feral parents from his foster mother who didn't like him because his coloring was worth more then hers. The fancier the markings and coloring the more they are cared for in their world and so some Jeracals will hold jealousy and hatred for another Jeracal easily. (Feral Jeracals behave more brotherly believing no other Jeracal is better then another. Those who as kept as pets are merely "lost" and should not be looked down upon. The feel the need to rescue captive Jeracals but believe that it is a Jeracal's choice to be free even though the lavishing life of a pet is tempting they will hold no grudge for those who remain pets and those who go free. While pet Jeracals will view ferals as filthy things that will harm their master depending on how they were raised.)
Jeracals are a CLOSED species and I would rather you not make one of your own. This is so that I can know who all owns one and I can keep records organized as well as keep them looking how they should so that one day if I decide to create an RP group I'll know who to invite. :x Thank you for understanding.

I hope to make them all pretty... >; w ;< But I don't wanna spend forever making hair for each one soooo I'm gonna lazy that road. XD I made some premade hair... although I should make a back view of "K" so that peeps can see the "mane" and how the head looks from the back. :x Where the front is a V the back is a W. :3
Toonami would often aire the two together back to back... XD And they both sorta behave the same way just one is an adult woman and the other is still a child. LORD VAAAAAAAAN! XD And she has the lil puff at the end of her tail. Aisha only had a tail in her beast form... : O And Merle in the normal anime and not the movie her clothing had spots even though she had stripes. And my lil girly up there has both stripes and spots. :D
Though I liked Merle, I liked Aisha Clan Clan more... and in Escaflowne after the movie was made the twins became my fave. Check this cosplay of them out! :D http://youtu.be/YEvatxDgOfI?list=FL.....2YjJ1rfvm-bZqw
Her tail seems to be falling off though... woops! XD I think it's because of the alluring song they sing at the pub. XD

It's... alright when it comes to anime standards. There are a lot of people who are fans of it and call it an anime legend... but idk. There was some parts in the anime that I found annoying or boring. Actually Cowboy Beebop as well. It's been hailed as an anime legend but really... if Ed was not there that would have been a boring anime. /shrugs and since the movie didn't have Ed in them... yep snore fest for me. XD I'm just not a gunslinger kind of girl... and what humor they did have before Ed's arrival was not my cup of tea. My favorite episode was "Mushroom Samba" I believe it was called but then Ed and Ein was a major part of that episode. And there were times I liked Fey... but.. the other two.. the MAIN characters. Nope. I'd rather deal with Gene Starwind and Jim Hawking from Outlaw star's comedy act. And I'm not saying I dislike all the gunslinging outer space anime either. I liked Dirty Pair Flash (Not so much the original Dirty Pair) and I liked Tenchi as well as Blue Sub #6. I think there was a few others too. Idk... /shrugs. But only a few of these anime were considered "Anime Legends" which is surprising to see that I believe Tenchi and Outlaw Star are not considered one. D: They're just as old and they have very memorable moments. I do believe though that El Hazard is called an anime Legend though... but it didn't have much air time on Toonami. And a REAL anime legend "Slayers" didn't make it onto American TV despite it being dubbed from the very beginning until its 4th season. (At least I heard Slayers Revolution and Slayers Evolution-R made it to American TV...) And Slayers has many of the same voice actors that are beloved in Inu-Yasha and Ranma 1/2 (Another Anime Legend that took a long time before coming to US TV even though being dubbed.)
Lmao, I feel ya on the Coyboy Bebop one. I've watched the original show of Escaflowne, but not the movie, and I don't remember any of it, so I can't really judge either. I had no clue Toonami aired El Hazard for a while! I had a few VHS of their fourth? season, and it was full of glorious barbie doll nudity. Omg I will never get over the blank boobs and vaginas, makes me laugh to this day, though definitely still quite a bit inappropriate for me t be watching when I got them, at like age ten or younger. xD
I wasn't a big Slayers fan, but I did love Record Lodoss War, and the anime movie Dragon Slayer. I LOVED Tenchi, though I wasn't fond of it after they switched to a new main character/story, and I've never had the chance to watch the movies, though I've heard they're fantastic. I've never watched Dirty Pair at all, either, mostly cause my dad thought it was porn. lmao
As for my fave gunslinger/space animes, I'd have to say Last Exile, Shangri-La, and Iczer One, though those first two are both works that included my anime artist idol, RANGE Murata, who also worked on two others I'm rather fond of aswell, Blue Sub No.6, and Solty Rei. > u<

Slayers is just filled with dumb humor... barely anything serious throughout the series. My luff owned the first season but gave it to me since he didn't enjoy it. Whenever it had a serious moment they would ruin it with a joke. Often Japanese references but once dubbed they tried to use English jokes. One of the major hidden jokes of the series is that it's supposed to be an old setting where there is barely any technology and yet throughout the series you get random scenes or references to things from this day and age. Which made it very inconsistent. Another factor that made me really love the series is that it was Originally based off from a DnD campaign someone had and took the characters to their extremes for entertainment and cohesion of a series. I can't remember if this was an anime before a manga or other way around. I sorta think it was flushed out as an anime while the manga focused on the main girl Lina and her travel companion Naga which makes a short cameo randomly throughout every season. Naga is still seen in the movies though and it's hinted about her at some points in the anime as well. It wasn't until it became a hit in Japan that the main group made it into the manga. I have the first volume of that one. A lot of the jokes also have very crude humor. Such as sex, breasts, and well... bathroom humor here and there. And the over eating theme that DragonBall had. For Lina's case it was to help fuel the magic she used... Gourry? Was just a pig. XD There are also love interests throughout it too.
But their humor had nothing on El Hazard. Which didn't need to reference current day things and instead focused on character development and personalities to fuel the humor. I've never seen the movie Dragon Slayer but I did watch x/1999 which played on the Action channel... which I don't think exists anymore. And I would watch Blue Sub and Dirty Pair over on the Syfy channel but they stopped airing anime now it seems. The title of Dirty Pair really hinted at porn.. XD Aaaaand the opening and such really hinted at adult content. XD ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3laZLGFfA1g ) But I think mostly they were lesbians... >= A =< I think... maybe? My dad would watch it with me some times... cus well naked girls and boobs. XD I think it was because of this he supported me liking anime and well my mom just goes along with things. XD I think that's also why they don't care that I'm a "furry".
OH Gundam Wing and Gundam Zero! Those are the ones I was thinking of! I liked them cus... cute guys while hinting at stuff. XD Not so much the other Gundams though. D: I hated Big O as it made me think of Batman with a powerranger zoid thing.. and I don't like Batman. I also don't like Superman. XD I'm a Marvel kind of girl. :3 The other anime you mention I've never watched... At least I don't think I have. I think after some point I began to find my niche of anime I liked to watch. XD Cutesy, sad and yet epic, or just weird. Also Romance lately... bonus points if it's a fantasy themed romance anime. XD There are some manga I just can't wait for them to make into an anime. And there are a few I'd love to see be made into an anime in hopes they change the ending. D: Two of which I just... ugh those endings are kinda dumb and well I was hoping for something different. (Animal Academy already has a voice channel story thing but needs an anime. Disliked the ending and want a different one. >:3 Aaaand Stray Little Devil had surprise Yuri. It wasn't set up and didn't fit at all with the storyline so it made little sense that it would end with it. >: / If it was set up for it I wouldn't have cared if it ended in Yuri. But it didn't and needs to be reworked even if the end remains Yuri or if they go down the hetero line. They just need to fix that crap. Lol.) Manga I would die from cuteness if they decide to make into an Anime would be MeruPuri. The art style is very workable with what's popular today. (Maid-sama like in style) And the other would be Kyouhaku Dog's: Another Secret. It would probably be a very very short anime but omg the cute just... unnnnf! Kyouhaku Dog's is about two peeps with dog nicknames. A girl called Hachiko because she's like a loyal clumsy dumb dog.. and the other "The Mad Dog" because he's like a bully and tends to be mean. She accidentally discovers his secret and blackmails him into being her "dog". For MeruPuri it's a fantasy manga. A girl has a magic mirror that acts like a portal to a magical world of which a young prince falls out of.... who just so happens to be on the run from his older brother who placed an annoying curse on him.
