27. Drunk, Drunkeness, etc.
Here is number 27 of my theme list, Drunkeness, or Drunk, same thing.
Usually when I draw drunk characters, they're more or less humorous and hilarious. However, there's always the side of being drunk that no one likes to see, and it's the miserable and depressed drunk, which I portrayed with Chao in this theme. The only times Chao ever drinks alcohol is when she's either in a celebration (Christmas, St. Patty's, etc.) or when she's real, and I mean, REAL down. Sitting in the dark on her own, she contemplates if it was really necessary to take the life of one of her best friends, David. Could there have been any way to cure him of the disease he was cursed with for all eternity? Was he that miserable and in that much pain that he saw it a blessing to be slain by his own friend?...So many questions, yet no answers to be found.
Overall, I love how the emotion turned out in this sketch. No definite sadness, no definite anger, just drunk, uncertainty, and confusion.
Yay for my awkward attempts at the bottles XD;

Now this... this I can respect you for. As the subject alone is something that I'll never see too often on this hell hole.
Not when people are happy and partying and being drunk. Oh no no no. The OTHER side of drinking.
When people are at home, alone, and don't want to be included in the existence of the world, and thus withdraw from it...straight
into the bottle.
The black shaded background alone should be enough to illustrate that as it's expected to look dark and oppressive. Like the world
just isn't there anymore as that's the most prevalent feeling here. Chao here.. well... she looks like an emotional wreck and yet..
she's supposed to- thus giving her reason to do the long time standing "drowning away your problems" in old liquid courage.
I can safely say I like this more because of the content. It kind of has that shock value that makes the viewer go "Yeah..I've had those kinds of moments too" as I'm pretty sure that, even without the alcohol, we've all been there.
I salute you for this and use this picture to reiterate why you have my unyielding respect~

Thank you very much for your comment :) Yes, we've all shared a moment where the world doesn't matter, the border between whether you decide if this life you live is worth to stay, or leave it...
Like I said, I wanted to portray a moment just about everyone has lived (with or without alcohol, everyone has reached a certain low like this at some point, and I see those blessed for the ones who haven't)
