I moreso meant the arm that was on the vanity, but then looking closer I realized the make-up was right against the mirror, hence forth blocking that arm. Sorry for the confusion! Didn't mean to point something out falsely, thought at first glance it was separate and perhaps had a cool story behind it. :3
No it's totally fine :3 I only prefer no critique on doodles, since likely it's a mistake I just didn't care about since it's a doodle. I don't usually fix images, but it's always something good to know in the future, especially as this isn't something I've really drawn before.
Another thing to point out though, the arm is resting right on the edge of the table, a little over the edge, rather then on top, so the mirror isn't showing where the arm crosses over. It's only showing where the upper arm is.

Pretty diificult, here I have the advantage of an angle that doesn't show one of the faces, but it's much harder to get it correct when you have to copy how everything is, yet keep the right angel. A simple trick, is to flip the other person around and put it in the mirror, but it isn't correct, it can just work well enough sometimes.
Well saying it doesn't make sense doesn't really help, sorry :< I'd need to know what it is that isn't correct. I find it is, just as much as I can see, as doing it other ways looked incorrect to me, with the makeup directly in front of the mirror only a bit of reflection would be shown. I also don't see how the arm can be wrong when the mirror isn't in a position to show that part of the arm.
I actually see the same things as CupcakeCreature did, and I know what is a little off in this. The mirror seems to be a bit higher on the wall since the reflection doesnt show the entirety of the bottles on the table, BUT there is no line where the table ends to the wall, so there is basically one line missing. And the abstence of the line defining where the wall starts and the table ends makes an illusion for the lineart where it looks like the mirror actually begins from there the girl's arm is at (so that the bottles on the table are actually in the mirror and not on the table at all).
This can be either fixed by adding in that one line, or fixing the reflection so that it displays the bottles as whole. Cause when you look at a mirror from above you should actually see more of the stuff on the table. The perspective you have here implys that the mirror is slighyly leaned backwards and hanged a little over the table.

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you mean (I'm a bit visual myself!). But maybe it's an issue of no colour, does this make it have more sense to you? The colour area is what is part of the table/mirror, the rest is other lines, like the walls. http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums.....pse6b827e9.png
The mirror is part of the table btw, it isn't separate.

I don't see how that would work though. In the image, it shows the make-up on the table, which is right against the mirror, so in the mirror you would only see a bit of the reflection, which I did ink it. I don't see how this angle could show anything else as it's a pretty straight on thing, so it's just showing the person at the table.
I -might- be kinda understanding, you mean there needs to be a line for the table in the mirror like on here?: http://ids.lib.harvard.edu/ids/view/20413925?width=560&height=560
I'm not at all sure how I could show the make up properly that way though, so it'll be a huge mistake no matter what I do, darn.

Sure! Also, thank you for asking :3 I'm much more visual, but I much prefer people ask before drawing over my images, especially since I do like to figure it out myself first if I can.
Not only am I visual but man are reflections tough to understand haha I'm pretty sure this is my first image having something like this, and I'll admit I'm pretty proud of how much I could pull off, though I was sure it wasn't 100% correct or anything.

I used the photo you linked too for better understanding too - and reflections are pretty tough! But should be not too hard once you get ahold of how they work. Faces are definetly harder (atleast for me) and you pulled the face out really well for this c:

I had the advantage of not having to show the other face haha It's much much harder when you have to draw two and get them the same, yet at the right angles!
More like this? http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums.....ps391f6486.png
I'll have to get approval from the commissioner of course, they may not like how much smaller the mirror image is, if so I'll have to go with the image I had before, as it's not correct unless it's that small.

It's a lot better now - but as you made the bottles really small you can move the table's end closer in the reflection actually (so that it's at the same distance as it is in the other side, say compare it with the brush, it's important that everything is at the same distance as it is in the other side) - also make sure the eyes are still focosed to the correct spot c:
So something like this? http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums.....ps42fbe283.png
Thank you so much for all the help!
Normally I don't do edits unless asked by the commissioner, as I personally find I learn better by simply letting things go and keeping it in mind next time, otherwise I wouldn't ever finish my work as nothing is ever perfect. But this was something that really helped make it better.

People work differently, though I find this way helps most in the end, at least for me it does. If I worry too much about fixing things (as in going past my current ability) then I'd learn less. You learn from the mistakes you make. Usually, when something is pointed out I do already know about it, I just don't have the skill yet to fix it but keep it in mind. With this mirror, it was so new to me it really did look correct to me.
I totally understand how you feel, though you have to remind yourself there's no reason to feel bad. There's a difference between improving and doing badly on a commission. I find I improve in bursts, rather then slowly, so I'll suddenly get better in the next image.
