Is it just me or does Grub seem to be getting some fluffly and friendly competition in the invertebrate companion department? I kind of had a weird thought after watching Futurama: do the anthropomorphic furries get their milk from "feral-type" cows or perhaps they use soy-milk or "buggalo"? This is why I need a job...

Depends on the story universe. Some settings might have the soy option, others might have feral cows, still others may use genetically engineered creatures like Futurama "buggalo", while other worlds might have well-paid sentient dairy workers...
